I watched him storm out, his broad shoulders tense under his black t-shirt. "Is there anything going on between you two?" Jaxon asked me, his eyebrows raised in question. "Shut the fuck up and leave me alone," I told him, not in the mood for his interrogation. The next morning I was typing furiously on my laptop when I heard a light groan. I turned and it was Sera who was struggling to sit up and I threw her a glare. By the time she sat up, she blinked twice and tried to realize where she was. She stood up abruptly and almost fell down but I rushed to hold her.

"Everything! You are why I am stuck here again. You are blind and a liar!" Sera has had enough. She shouts back, her voice ringing with frustration. "Why are you yelling at me? Who are you to treat me like this? I told you—I do not know what you are talking about. I signed an agreement for care, not a marriage contract!" She pants, out of breath. "And another thing—are you his girlfriend or something? Is that why you are so mad?!" Shein stares, stunned by Sera's fire. She opens her mouth to scream again—but the door swings open. Lucian stands there, his face set in a hard, cold line.

Why don’t you suggest flowers to decorate my house?” Emma scoffed as he tried to save me from her angry stare.

Emilio asks in confusion, I had no answers to give him so Mira answered for me. "She's just embarrased, you caught her at a bad time" Mira smiled awkwardly at Emilio and Zoe. "Oh, this is Zoe" Emilio says happily, "Zoe, this is Camila" he smiles gesturing between us with his hand. "It's so nice to meet you" Zoe smiles while outstretching her arm for me to shake her hand. I shook her hand hesitantly with the polites smile I could find, but I looked so nervous right now as I sat there staring up at her face.

“You leaked those photos. You set her up. You let her believe she was falling for someone who actually gave a damn.” “I do give a damn.” My voice was low but firm. Mila’s expression didn’t soften. “Then fix it. But don’t show up here expecting her to play house with you again.” Before I could respond, a crash sounded from behind her. A glass. Shattered. My heart seized. “Emery?” Mila turned, and I pushed past her. Emery stood in the living room, hands trembling, eyes glassy. A news broadcast played silently on the TV behind her. But as I held her, her body stiffened, her breath pulsing for a minute, eyes closed as if she was in some kind of trance. I shake her, “Are you okay,” I asked, dread crawling on my skin. “I have a vision of a woman covered in a cloak, calling my name and muttering some chants,” Serena stiffened in my arms, her hand clutching mine. “What did she say,” I whispered behind her.

Ezra giggles like nothing is out of place. “Mummy,” he says, touching her face. “You’re breathing fast.” She nods, still panting. “Are you okay, my little boy?” She inspects Ezra like he’s glass about to crack. “Hope you’re not hurt anywhere.” My confusion grows heavier. Something is wrong. I can feel it. Like electricity in the air before lightning strikes. “What’s going on?” I ask finally. Sera freezes. Slowly, she lifts her head and looks at me like she just remembered I exist.
