EMILY'S POV "Please spare me!" Seraphina cried, collapsing to her knees in complete terror. Her voice echoed through the hallway, her hands clasped tightly together in supplication. She was trembling, her eyes wide and glassy, darting around as if expecting a blow. I stared at her in utter confusion. What was happening here? Why would she beg me of all people to spare her life?
