The ticking of the clock is taunting and seems to grow louder with every passing second. I have never had such a feeling of dread, and if my blood wasn’t already cold, it would be glacial right now.

A long, soft moan escaped Emily's small lips as she closed her eyes for a moment, savoring the tenderness of the French man's touch along her spine. The woman lay face down on the bed, completely naked, with the sheets in disarray. Her heart raced wildly, her breath coming in gasps in the dimly lit room. That afternoon, dark clouds began to gather in the sky, signaling the arrival of a storm mixed with lightning, similar to the one that had struck Chicago a few days earlier.

Chapter 98: Ashes and Embers The first autumn storm rolled in overnight, dousing the beach cabin in rain and wind. Sophia stood at the window in the early hours, watching the ocean thrash against the shore. The glass rattled in its frame, but she didn’t flinch. The sound felt honest—raw and restless, like her thoughts. The fire she’d lit the night before had burned to embers. She crouched to stir it back to life, feeding it pieces of driftwood until the flames returned. The warmth spread through the tiny living room, chasing off the chill.

Meanwhile, a disheveled Timothy drove to the beach. he stopped the car and stepped out before walking to the white sands. he sat there and watched how the tides carried the waves, sweeping them almost close to his feet before taking them back. his mind was a chaotic mess, he couldn´t call or go to look for Bernice because they could easily say something irreversable out of anger.

Chapter: 30 ****** On a cold, stormy night, the wind whipped in from the North Sea, sending sheets of rain through the air. The moon shone brilliantly over the little island where the Lycgers had sought refuge three days ago. The sea churned with dark, menacing waves. Inside the vast living room, the men paced restlessly, their shirtless bodies drenched in sweat despite the frigid temperature. The pain they felt had become unbearable, and with each passing day, it seemed to worsen.

Each member is tested, their inner strength challenged as the storm mirrors the turmoil within their souls. Amidst the chaos, Emily finds herself face to face with her own fears. Doubts creep in, threatening to overwhelm her. But as she locks eyes with Liam, their love burns bright like a guiding light in the storm.
