Her cheeks are beautifully pink and her lips a deep red. She’s not underfed or sickly. “Did Vesper send you?” I ask.

“Don’t underestimate me!” As the empress charged towards her, Emery stanced and waited for her to draw closer. She counted each step that Empress Serena took before raising her foot. In one swift kick right on the jaw, she knocked her off of her feet in no time. The empress tried to get up as fast as she could, however, everything around her seemed to be turning upside-down. Emery, on the other hand, got on top of her and held her on the collar. “Did you wish for an instant death?” she whispered, but did not wait for her to answer. “If yes, then I must break that bubble of yours because I will make sure that you suffer in so much pain that you want to kill yourself just to end it.”

Or get ready to face the consequences.” Her old wrinkled eyes changed color immediately switching to dark brown with a golden glow. She would transform any time to launch an attack. Everyone in the WEREALM was aware about Grand Empress : A fierce, deadly and marvelous fighter. She had never lost any of the fights in past. Sometimes, she even defeated her late husband, the Emperor. She turned old, but not powerless.

Silas stared at the three guys in front of him. "According to this book written by our ancestors and kept by the Queen and King, Red Woods is the last empire of living vampires nowadays. In short, we are the last vampires standing. Decades ago, Red Woods is divided into five regions: Auburn of North, Cerise of East, Vermillion of Metropolis, Carmine of West, and Carnelian of South. We are now at Vermillion." He flipped the book, showing the map to Jet and Raze while pointing at the regions.

She can't think of anyone who has the same appearance as the man, or she's simply too disoriented right now. He smiled sarcastically and said, "I'm your answer, Empress." Cristine's uncertainty persisted. She has no trust in this man. She is more likely to trust her instincts than a total stranger. He replied, with sympathy for Cristine, "You still haven't changed, my empress, you are still you, weak." Cristine was at a loss for words. She's not sure if she should just kill him now or torture him first. Cristine chuckled. "You're so arrogant?" she joked.

When they get the chance, run like mad. The door opened again making Ember jump, this time Red came in. “Let’s go, m’lady.” He smirked and made a mocking bow as he gestured for her to follow him out of the hut. She glared at him and walked out. She saw there were about fifty vampires moving about breaking down camp. The fire she had seen had only been one of ten spread out through the forest. She didn’t recognize a thing as she glanced around her. She had the sudden urge to run when she felt a hand clamp hard around her bicep.

He is glaring over at the vampire who is drinking his fill. "Everett, we don't have time for this," He mutters with a heavy exhale. "We have a long trip back to Mortem so how about a little professionalism, hm?" I freeze at his words. Mortem. As in Dema Mortem? These are not random vampires abducting humans at all. They were sent straight from the Vampire King himself. Why would the vampire king take prisoners from the Emberi Empire? I am distracted from my racing thoughts by the nauseating sound of the vampire, Everett, removing his fangs from the crying prisoner.

Adrian hesitated—too long. “Adrian,” she breathed, “tell me.” He looked into her eyes, and what she saw there made her heartbeat stutter—not fear, not violence, but agony. “Because your bloodline can create the strongest vampire alive,” he said quietly. “Stronger than Jason. Stronger than Lilith. Stronger than anyone.” Emily stared at him. Her lips parted. Her breath stilled. Her fingers loosened. “Oh my God…” Adrian stepped closer, hands rising to cup her face—but stopping just inches away, scared she’d pull back.

The heavy doors shut behind her, a sigh of relief accidently slipping from my lips as I watched Vincent re-take his seat, Sebastian soon following his son and Berus moving to stand beside him. I remained on the floor, unsure if I would be able to stand, but also knowing that I must, I couldn’t show them how weak I truly was. I leant against the table as I stumbled to my feet, my legs unsteady and continuing to tremble, what could I possibly do now? I couldn’t fight them alone, so that meant that I must obey them, I had no other choice. “Elizabeth is one of those Vampires that is stuck in the old ways, gets it from her mother.” The elder vampire said, his tone calming but still sent shivers t
