The One He Saved
I squeeze his hand and hold it firmly in mine.
He puts the wand on my stomach and begins moving it around, watching the screen beside him. I stare at the screen, then look at Ezra, frowning. He has the same look of confusion on his face that I do on mine.
“Ahhh, well, I’m glad to know my instincts are still on target,” Dr. Samuel says.
“That’s great, doctor. What instincts are those?” Ezra asks impatiently.
Dr. Samuel turns and smiles at us. “You’re having twins.”
