His jaw was shadowed in stubble, his shirt half untucked, but his eyes those were the same: cold steel, sharp and clear.
“You’re early,” he said.
“You answered.”
He stepped aside. “Only because you used the word Blackbird.”
She entered. The apartment was stripped down maps on the walls, two laptops open, wires running into God-knows-what. It smelled like black coffee and burnt adrenaline.
“You have ten minutes,” Killian said, shutting the door. “And if you mention Cassian, I’ll cut that in half.”
Aria raised an eyebrow. “Brotherly love.”
Killian didn’t smile. “You don’t know him.”
