Marta waited outside Minerva’s tent for Kendra. They were breaking camp the following morning so this was her only opportunity to get her away from camp unnoticed. The alien village was but a day away. They’d be there the following night and then the girl would be sold and the money would be in Minerva’s possession.

Esper wasn't sure if she could handle another dream like that. Wanting to shake away the uneasy feeling, Esper walked to her bathroom and hopped in the shower. The hot water pounding on her skin washed away her anxieties and soothed her mind. Feeling refreshed, Esper walked out of the bathroom back into her room. She was drying her hair as she headed towards the closet when she spotted a silver envelope slipped under her door. Picking up the parcel, Esper closely examined it. The envelope was addressed to her in beautiful calligraphy. She gingerly opened it and smiled at the night sky themed stationery with silver lettering. The invitation read:

Ximena places her stuff quickly in a neat pile and I place the box on the ground before unpacking it. I say and we walk up and down the library isles. I climb and jump to get books off of shelves and Aidan has to catch me a couple of times when I fell.

" Ezperanza began. Her eyes disconnected from Maru's and gazed beyond the ocean of nothingness that plagued everywhere but her own. The boy who was aged 6 years old can never understand the reasoning behind the woman's words. All he could ever think was how sorry it was to spend alone in this place with no company or friend and stay here for years without end.

I feel a familiar twist in my heart; I feel this whenever I leave her someplace, even a place as safe and happy as this little school. When I return home, Esperanza is gone. Probably off to run errands or to pick up whatever I forgot to get at the store the other day-I always forget something, even when I take a list. I can smell her famous chili simmering in the slow cooker; she probably went to get fresh tortillas from the Mexican grocery downtown. I nuke some leftover coffee from earlier and walk up to the second level. At the door to Gray’s office, I enter a code on the keypad over the knob and slip inside.

“I need your help Audrey, Esperanza has been kidnapped and you are the only one who can save her” At the mention of that, Bianca froze for a moment.

Esperanza added who had been looking at Clayton’s calm and handsome face, who was currently busy with his tutoring class at the other side of the imaret. Barbara rolled her eyes. “It’s not about his appearance, Espe. I just want a peaceful life, that’s all!” “Peaceful life?
