Maria is the only child of Ricardo and Juana Lopez who where farmers in the small village of San Sebastián Bernal. She often joined her parents to work in the farm, but she had bigger dreams which existed outside the small town in Mexico. Maria left Mexico to visit a her friend Emma Pelan who resides in Los Angeles,who she attended college with her with papers , which was supposed to last for just six months. Emma had a job in Orleans restaurant where she helped Maria get a job where she worked as a waitress.
