He couldn't think of anything at all. He got up and walked over to the table for a glass of water. But when he picked up the flask, it was completely empty. A knot began to form between his brows. Whenever he used to reach for his cup, the water inside had always been at just the perfect temperature. Then it hit him—I wasn't there anymore. Just as he was about to call for Bill, Katrina's cries echoed from downstairs. Ethan quickly materialized in Katrina's room. Inside was a mess, while she lay limp on the floor, her body covered in red rashes.

All these years, he had wasted time looking for her, any information that could follow the girl’s trail, but we always end up in dead ends, yet he won’t give up. For how long were we supposed suck it up and deal with whatever he did until it was enough? How much longer, for fuck’s sake! “She’s not special!” I screamed at the top of my lungs, unable to hold back. General glared at me as if I was trying to pull food out of his mouth. As he stood up and slammed his fist against the desk, breaking the furniture in half, I couldn’t stay silent. “She’s not Selene’s daughter! That chick is the daughter of a werewolf and a vampire hybrid! She might be a second generation hybrid, but that doesn’t mak

— Ethan’s POV He wasn’t mine. I knew it the instant I touched him. His heartbeat, too calm. His reflexes, unnervingly fast. And the way he looked at me... like he recognized me from somewhere I hadn’t yet been. The boy who called me “Father” wasn’t Irene. Couldn’t be. Because my daughter was asleep in her crib across the room, her tiny fingers clenched like she was still fighting the world she’d just entered. She was barely five months old. Delicate. Real.

“Is your father dead? Is that why he didn’t protect you, or your mother? Was it the Rogues?” “No,” I shook my head. “No, he’s not dead.” “Then where is he?” Ethan asked. I ducked my head and curled up. I didn’t want to tell him. But he needed all the information if he was going to find my mother. “He’s Arthur,” I said. You're Alpha Arthur's daughter?” Ethan yelped. “You're the Alpha Daughter?” “No, Eva is. Her mother is the Luna, and Arthur's wife. I'm just his lover's bastard.”

I heard her scream into her phone saying, “Damn, Ethan, he is going to call you right back!” I picked up my phone and dialed Ethan’s number, and he picked instantly. “Where the fuck did you dump your phone, boss?” Ethan asked immediately. “I am sorry, I got caught up with something over here,” I answered. “And I hope it has nothing to do with Morgan’s daughter,” Ethan sneered. “No,” I replied not knowing if I had told a lie or a truth, but who cares at this point anyway? “What’s up?” “So I just heard that Morgan has been murdered by Kozlova general,” Ethan informed me.

The woman looked around to make sure no one was paying attention to them. Ethan frowned at Louise's behaviour, "What's wrong, Louise? What are you-" "Shh!" Louise silenced the man and hurriedly pushed Ethan into an empty room. Ethan, who was surprised, immediately asked, "Louise, what are you doing?" Daiva peeked outside the door and when she felt it was safe, she closed the door. Then the woman turned to Ethan and asked, "Why are you here, Ethan?" Ethan found Louise's attitude strange, but he casually replied, "I'm being treated at this hospital."

If I were there, I would have puked too. I did not know where I was buried, but my entire body was rotten. Fortunately, my face was still recognizable. If not, no one could have recognized me just by the ghastly state my body was in. An hour later, Sarah came around. She looked at Brian with reddened eyes and said, "Was that Sienna?" Brian nodded. Sarah started to sob and exclaim, "What's going on? How could our daughter die? What happened?!" Sarah could barely breathe in the police station. The police officer calmed her down before recounting how they found my body.

The little girl I had met at the amusement park who talked to me like we’d known each other for years. And standing beside her... “It's me, Denise,” the woman continued, her eyes cold. “Ethan’s wife.” My jaw dropped. My skin went cold. Wife? Ethan’s... wife? So Ethan... He was Florida’s father?
