Desmond feinted left but struck right—his clawed hand raking deep into Eugene’s exposed side. The sound was sickening. Eugene staggered, clutching his side. His breath caught. The crowd fell into stunned silence. "NO!" Becca screamed. Her knees buckled, but she didn’t fall. Her hand clamped over her mouth as tears pooled in her eyes.

He answered. "So are we going to inform the council about the beast's abduction?" I asked with a raised brow. "No, the council made it clear. The beast is to be left unharmed as long as it doesn't find its bond or cross the damn river. Attacking it without reason could bring unwanted war between the Tasmanian devils and our own people. What we will do is go there and make sure we find out if Hera is alive or dead." He answered seriously then threw the papers on a small table beside him.

Grasis nodded sadly and stared in frustration. "Nothing dangerous. Go back and sit there hiding, but lie down with your face down?" Grasia gritted his teeth and began to move slowly again. Grasis wrapped a cloth full of smoke between the two trunks of the tree right next to the hive and he himself quickly got down from the tree and lay down with his face covered. At the same time, the sound of bees like eagles began to echo over their heads. Grasis looked up with sly eyes. The bees were buzzing around like crazy.
