Evelyn Skye Books Novels & Stories

Dylen’s POV The night had always been my refuge. Cold, silent… mercifully cruel. But tonight, the silence mocked me. The air carried her scent, wild lilac and rain and every breath I took burned my lungs. From the shadowed edge of her garden,I watched her. Evelyn. She didn’t know I was there, at first but the wind announced my presence. Her laughter drifted through the courtyard like a song I had once known. She stood beside her father, nodding obediently as he spoke about alliances, duties, and a future she didn’t choose. The moonlight painted her hair silver, her skin like porcelain kissed by the stars.

As Hannah, her eyes narrowed in drowsiness, saw the barrage of messages from me, she snapped to attention. She scrolled through them, disbelief etched on her face, until she reached the end and saw my signature. She sat up uncontrollably, her face, previously flushed with affection, then ghostly white. She whispered to herself in disbelief. "No way… no way… You've always let me have my way. How could you send me this?" Jack, caught off guard by her reaction, leaned in for a quick peek at the photos. He did not catch everything, but the words "divorce" and "Marvin" were enough to get the gist.

Evelyn had survived exile, betrayal, assassination attempts, and a violent awakening wolf. Mikaela North probably cried over broken fingernails. “Where is Evelyn?” I asked. “In the eastern gardens with Queen Vivian.” I left immediately without another word. I found Evelyn seated beneath the stone archways overlooking the palace gardens while Queen Vivian spoke quietly beside her. The moment Evelyn noticed me approaching, her expression softened slightly. That small reaction alone eased some of the violence inside my chest. Vivian noticed too. Of course she did. “You look murderous,” my mother commented dryly.

Evelyn's POV Holding Nora's hand, I stopped in my tracks. Looking at Charlotte blocking my path, I felt nothing but sheer amusement. "Is there something else?" Charlotte took two steps toward me, her face sporting a tight smile. The sweet, gentle tone she used around Ethan was completely gone. "Evelyn, I want to know what your plans are now that you're back in Lunaris City. Are you planning a permanent stay?" I casually brushed a stray lock of hair away from my face as the cold wind whipped past. "You know, I have a friend whose apartment sits right at the edge of her pack's territory. The hygiene there is pretty terrible. Flies and pests keep buzzing around, driving her absolutely crazy."

I used the key that had come with the other legal documents and opened it. Inside, I found a collection of old photographs and letters—things that had belonged to Gavin’s mother, Elena. I had never seen her face before, but looking at the pictures, I was struck by how much she resembled Gavin. There was a gentleness in her eyes that was absent in him, a sadness that seemed to permeate every image. I began to read the letters. Most were addressed to my father, words of love, longing, and eventually, pain. But there was one letter, dated just days before her death, that made my blood run cold.

Just two broken things clinging to each other in the dark. "I am scared, Eryx," I confessed, the words so quiet they were barely a breath. It was the first time I had said it out loud. In front of Kael, in front of the messengers, I had been the storm. But here, in the dark, with the smell of his skin keeping the ghosts at bay, I was just Skye. "The amber... when I opened that connection, it felt like I was disappearing. It felt like the mountain was a great, black ocean, and I was just a drop of rain falling into it. If the wards strip that away, what is left of me?"

I sat there with my arms crossed and waited for him to get to the point. "Well‚" Evelyn said‚ grabbing her phone off the table. "I actually need to use the bathroom. Be right back." She stood up and as she passed behind Kael‚ she grabbed my shoulder and leaned down to my ear. "Skye. Oh my God! I think he likes you! And he's so fucking hot. Make sure you say yes—" "Go to the bathroom‚ Evelyn." She gave me a look that said ‘we are talking about this later’ and walked away.

"Let's stop talking about her, Joe. We are also stupid for falling for her, anyway. I need to appreciate Skylar for teaching me not to fall in love with any girl." "All girls are bitches."Joe mutters. Jayden starts."Except - " "Jayden's Secretary, Evelyn Jones."Joe interrupts him, choking with laughter. "Keep quiet, fool."Jayden snaps at him. "Wait, why are you searching for Colleen Hoover's books? I thought you hated reading stories."Joe asks, glancing at the laptop in front of his friend. Jayden shrugs."None of your business." "Could it be that Evelyn's favorite author is Colleen Hoover?"

SKYLA Cole frowned, a crease forming between his lips as he stared at Skyla in confusion. “Evelyn?” he repeated, his dark gold brows furrowing further. “What does this have to do with her? She… she was sent to Windsburn Island long ago. Why bring her up now?” Skyla’s eyes widened. What was Cole talking about? Evelyn being sent to Windsburn? She was confused because Cole didn’t seem to be joking or trying to change the subject. It seemed as if his memory had been fragmented -just like when Cole woke up and believed she had been diligently taking care of him during his illness, while she had done nothing of the sort.
