Her hands fisted in my shirt, desperate for an anchor. “Yes, you can,” I said, tightening my hold on her. “Focus on my touch. Follow my breathing.” Her breathing hitched, then slowly began to steady, the trembling in her hands subsided as the bond pulsed stronger. She blinked, a tear slipping down her cheek, and took a shaky breath, the color returning to her face. She placed her forehead on my chest, taking in a few more deep breaths.
