TIME TO FALL IN LOVE
He was holding me so tight I could barely breathe, his face buried in the crook of my neck, his tears wet against my skin.
"We’re going to make it," I whispered, though I didn't know if it was true.
"It doesn't matter," he rasped, his voice muffled by my hair. "I can feel you. That’s all the world I need."
The pod lurched violently, spinning as it hit a pocket of air. We were rising through the ruins of our life, the glass palace of New Macau becoming a graveyard beneath us.
