The Mates of Monsters

The Mates of Monsters

I tighten my grip on David and ask, "Your proclamation—what's the big picture? Where do you see this going? I'm curious, Alpha Nicodra. Do you have any specific ideas regarding how exactly you're going to resurrect our culture?" He lifts his glass to me and says, "I'm happy to hear your interest. My ideas are truly rooted in our conformity to a way of life that was simply not built on the beings we are. Frankly, Brigette, we are not human. In all honesty, we're monsters—at least to them, at least in our physiology." "Monsters," I repeat, tasting the word on my tongue.

This is a very good book and can be part of my Recommended List. And for readers like me who like to read reviews first before deciding if they will read the book, this is NOT your TYPICAL werewolf story if you’re like me who loves reading them. BUT it’s very worthy tackling the true concept of MATE

What a delight! Well-written, this story is an expression of the authors maturity in writing and in story telling. Internal dialogue and conflict of our main is the whole story, the tone slightly heavy. Great feminist lead, who has her cake and eats it too! Also the Alpha is pretty great too.

Evolve to Survive

At this rate, she would have David’s current strength in 2 to 3 months. He smiled. That would be good. On the off chance something bad happened to him, she would be fine. Bob screeched and pointed at the trembling monster ape. David nodded. He knew that the creature was undergoing spontaneous evolution. If it was anything like the Deus Draco, he knew that this thing was going to be dangerous. It wouldn’t be like the Deus Draco who had time to settle in its newfound abilities but it would still pose a threat to both David and Elizabeth. He frowned. He was thinking if his plan was worth it.

Some nights I don’t even go home. Winding down the rest of the road, we’re silent. I focus on her ragged breaths and the hum of the car engine. A cat scampers across the road. I jerk the car. Inside, I growl in hunger. “Is everything ok?" Camille’s breath quickens as she turns to look at me. Her huge brown eyes are completely focused on me.

This storyline has some interesting characters. Jada and Easton are so busy ranting and raving about Severin and Edward is making a complete donkey out of them. This is a good book. I know it’s ongoing but so far I am enjoying it. Do not miss an exciting book if you’re looking for something goo.

one of the best novels of this site. well written and great story. The only problem is Monday you get a lot of pages and chapters, and the rest of the week you get a page a day. Come on the author and this site can do better. Really about to stop reading because of this.

They just make the future possible. Dani hooks her arm around mine and kisses my cheek. "Let's go home, babe." If I am a monster, then I am hers. And I have never belonged to anything else completely. … T H E E N D ❤️❤️

Monsters From The Mist

Monsters From The Mist

Though the monsters that made that sound were terrifying to behold. What I was staring at were creatures that resembled hybrid experiments gone wrong. The monsters were as tall as the trees in the forest. Their arms were so long they used them to walk along with their two legs, like the gorillaens I had once seen in the zoo back at Coven Community.

Healing with the monster

Healing with the monster

"Victor was a monster, but he was a human monster. He wanted money, power, and his father’s approval. But these 'Architects of the Void'... their code is different. It’s cold. It doesn't have a signature. It doesn't have an ego." Julian sat on the edge of the desk, his presence grounding me. "That’s because they aren't a family, Elara. They’re a conglomerate. The logs show that Victor was just their 'Biological Lead.' Now that he’s in a Swiss cell, they’ve moved on to the next phase: Sequence 9."

To Become The Monster

she continued, “their blood responds before their minds do. That is why mates feel one another across distance. Why separation feels like illness.” Her gaze drifted knowingly toward me, though Mae had asked. “That is also why denying it can be fatal.” The candles flickered, shadows crawling across the walls. “Not everyone who is recognized should be turned,” the Ancient One said. “But those who ask. Those who step forward and choose the monster willingly—” She leaned toward us, voice lowering. “They almost always survive.” Her eyes locked fully onto mine. “Because the change does not create the darkness,” she said. “It only gives it permission.”

Frequently Asked Questions

The evolving space monster concept pops up in a few memorable 'Star Trek' episodes, but the one that really sticks with me is 'The Immunity Syndrome' from the original series. The crew encounters this gigantic, single-celled organism draining energy from starships—literally a space amoeba! What's wild is how it evolves mid-episode, adapting to their attacks. Kirk's classic dilemma of 'do we kill it or study it?' feels so quintessentially Trek.

Then there's 'Voyager's' 'Bliss,' where a cosmic entity mimics a wormhole to lure prey. Not exactly evolving, but it's another example of space critters messing with Starfleet. I love how Trek uses these monsters to explore scientific curiosity versus survival instincts. The original series' rubber-suit effects might look cheesy now, but the ideas? Timeless.
