Yet, I couldn't afford to slow down or hesitate. Zack's growls echoed through the forest, sending shivers down my spine. I glanced over my shoulder, catching a glimpse of his menacing form, his eyes locked onto me. The realization that I was being hunted like prey only fueled my determination. With my heart pounding in my ears, I made a split-second decision and took a sharp left turn, veering off the path I had been taking till now. I darted through thick underbrush and leaped over fallen logs, hoping that the dense vegetation would obscure my scent and confuse Zack before finding my way back to the straight path I had been on. Hopefully this would be enough to buy me a second or two.

dog. David frowned. "A dog?" Alex smiled. "No." He tapped the page. "Glen wasn't describing animals." "He was describing landmarks." Twenty kilometres ahead... The convoy rounded another bend. Kamau suddenly raised a clenched fist. Every vehicle stopped instantly. Obadiah stepped out. "What is it?" Kamau pointed at the road. A thick branch lay across it. Nothing unusual. Until Kamau crouched beside it. He gently brushed away wet leaves. A thin steel wire stretched from the branch to a crude triggering mechanism hidden in the ditch.

He seemed to notice the intense glare targeted at him, so he turned towards me, smirking while flickering the ash without looking at it. The forest air hung heavy with the scent of damp earth and decaying leaves as starting gun fired. We all surged forward, heading into the unknown. I quickly stole a glance at my mate, her expression remained unfazed, but the sound of her rapid breathing gave her away. She was scared. “What a weakling,” I murmured to myself. I sprinted into the woods, holding back, my senses on high alert. While others relied on brute strengths and speed, I focused on observing my environment. Inhaling deeply, the scent of a hidden snare—a pit covered with cleverly disguised

My eyes were fixed on every nook and cranny, yet there was nothing but the shadows of the shaking leaves. It must be hiding, I thought. Be patient. be patient. As a hunter, I must not be in a hurry. Prey will come out when they think it's safe. I crouched down and hid myself in the bushes. My eyes looked through the gaps in the branches and saw the grass swaying slightly in the distance. I stared straight ahead, Daley following me silently. The swaying weed was like a wave rising from the middle of the sea, and it was coming towards me. The gaps in front of me were widening, and I saw the ugly face of the hyena approaching.

The threat of danger hung heavily in the air. Instinctively, my body tensed, muscles coiling in anticipation of an attack. I weighed my options, assessing the distance between myself and the hidden marksman. With a surge of adrenaline, I run forward, veering off course in a desperate attempt to evade the sniper's deadly aim. The sound of the gunshot reverberated through the air, a deafening crack that sent birds scattering in every direction.

These one eyed beasts truly did not want any single person to escape. Was this going to be the end for him as well? No way! never! How could he die like this? Especially after coming so close to being eaten by the highly revered and rare snow tiger? pfft. He suddenly wanted to laugh. "Let's go that way." Jim said as he pointed to his right side. There seemed to be the least number of beasts in that area.

I could feel the sweat trickling down my back, the tension almost unbearable. The silence was thick, broken only by the distant call of a bird and the rustling leaves.

There was no sign of anyone. I closed my eyes and activated my wolf's red eyes to scan the area. I noticed a specific tree where the branches were shaking, as if someone had jumped through them. They thought they were being clever; the person must be hiding there. However, it turned out to be a distraction, and suddenly, a gunshot rang out. A paralyzing dart hit my skin, rendering me immobile. What could I do? If the bullet hit me, I might not survive.

Nicole explained, "So, what do you think?" Scarlett fell Into a deep silence, 'What do you think, Ulva?' She turned to her wolf for an answer, 'I don't think it's a bad idea.' 'Well, I do.....' Ulva stopped in the middle before standing on four, gaze sharp and alarmed. 'Be careful, Scar... I sense danger...' She spoke deeply and Scarlett frowned. Suddenly, Scarlett's ear captured a 'hush' sound and immediately she dodged the other side and her hand caught a poisonous arrow.
