  Simula pa lang ay nagkagusto na si Kariel sa lalaking inampon ng kanilang mga magulang, na si Darrius. Minsan na rin niyang inamin ang nararamdaman rito. Ngunit dahil sa respeto at malaking utang na loob sa kinilalang magulang ay hindi siya binigyang pinansin nito. Ngunit na-realize ni Darrius na kailangan niyang ipaglaban ang kanyang nararamdaman para kay Kariel kahit labag pa sa kagustuhan ng magulang. Lalong-lalo na nang malamang ikakasal na ito sa anak ng kaibigan at kasusyo ng kinilalang magulang. At naisipan niyang pigilan ang kasal ng dalawa nang napagalaman ang totoong motibo ng pamilyang gustong ipakasal sa dalaga ng kinilala n'yang ng magulang.
