They sniffed the air, picking up on the distinctive scent of the Quercia and set off behind the buildings and into the nearby small stretches of land still covered in trees, away from human eyes. Feeling the ground beneath him vibrate with the hundreds of varying sources cleared his mind; he homed in on the unmistakable movements of a wolf and sped up. A few yards ahead he spotted the pale, mixed coloring of a pack member and signaled to Gil to get around him. The underling caught wind of them and attempted to throw them off by taking to the alleys, but Gil arrived to cut off the path. Victor dove in on him from behind, aiming for the shoulder with a shallow bite.

Parker swallowed the last gulp of his drink before placing the empty glass back on the dark wood of the desk, careful to avoid the papers. "I'm not requesting access to all of the rogues. I would only be going after the one who participated in my death. Maybe all three of the wolves who had attacked me, if they are all present." Parker looked amused at my statement as he clasped his hands together over his stomach with his elbows remaining on the arms of the chair.

I replied to him but as soon as I spelled the name ‘Paul’, I gasped. “What happened? What is it?” Karien inquired as he saw me gasped all of sudden. I looked at him and asked, “Do you remember what was the shade of the wolf fur, and how big was he?” “He had slightly golden brown, white-colored mix fur and not so big as I saw a werewolf in movies. “Now.” But it was too late. A growl came from the trees. Then another. Then ten more. Eyes glowed in the dark. Dozens of them. Rogue wolves. Huge. Scarred. Foaming at the mouth. Lycan stepped forward. “This is your only chance. Leave. Or die.” The rogues didn’t speak. They charged. **Rosa’s POV** The fight was chaotic. Snarls. Blood. Claws. I sliced one rogue’s throat, then ducked as another leapt over me.

I threw the guns away and sidestepped the wolf, kicking it in the side, but because it was larger than me, it didn't even get phased and instead turned around, snapping its jaws at me. I took out the dagger I had prepared for Alexander and plunged it right into the wolf's eye, who howled in pain, followed by falling limp. I retracted my dagger and continued the fight when, like a flash, a large black wolf with a white and brown tail appeared out of nowhere, jumping into the fight. In less than minutes, the wolf wiped out almost all of my family, leaving only a handful of us. Looking at the agility and fighting skill, I instantly recognized him: alpha Alexander, the man I was here to kill!

My eyes were fixated on the witch at the top of the stairs thinking of all the ways I could kill her. 'Her blood will taste amazing,' Cinnabar was huffing and pacing in my mind. He was the only reason I'd made small progress of moving my arms. We could feel through the connection that Eloise was in pain. She was distressed. 'The pups,' my wolf growled out. A snarl ripped through my lips sounding muffled but loud enough to make the witch turn to us once again. She rolled her orange eyes at me stepping down the stairs with her arms crossed.
