Excerpt From Wolf Stalker Novels & Stories

I spoke with a flat tone and watched the colour drain from his face and fear take over. “Kill him.” He shouted as he shifted into a muddy coloured brown wolf. One that was no match for my own. I ran straight for him, shifting mid air into Khaos' huge black wolf. One of the other wolves came at me from the side as Jack went in for my throat. Both were nothing, as I kicked my back legs out at the unknown rogue and heard the snapping of bones as I shattered his jaw. Followed by his yelp of pain. Jack, seeing that he wasn't going to get my throat veered left and jumped onto my back, sinking his teeth into my shoulder.

To which the wolf growled and hooted. - I don't understand you, let's be careful. We have to get home. Not knowing from which side to approach him and how to help, she ran from one side, then from the other, with the words: “Come on, come on. Well, a little more." And already next to the porch ordered: - Spread, - the wolf growled, shaking his head. - Alex! I said - move on! Fast! Thank the creator, he did not growl. A wolf with pale eyes and a scarred face and a hunger for revenge. The wolf stepped forward, his voice cold. "You killed our Alpha. You destroyed our pack. Now we're going to return the favor." Lyra raised the dagger. "You're welcome to try." The wolf lunged. --- The battle was chaos. Wolves clashed in the snow, their claws finding flesh, their teeth finding throats. Lyra fought beside Stellan, their bodies moving as one, the bond pulsing between them. She was not afraid. She was not running. She was fighting for everything she had built.

"No sovereignty. No gold. Just the cold." The ten-minute window Ryan had bought us was closing. On the ridge, I saw the first flare of a physical torch. The Council Stalkers were moving. They didn't need satellites or high-frequency scanners now; they were hunting by sight, tracking the trail of blood and soot I had left in the snow like a common animal. I reached into my pocket and pulled out the scrap of pine-scented fabric I’d stitched into my lining. I pressed it against Kael’s nose, a desperate, pathetic attempt to wake the wolf that I knew was gone.

Ivy whined, clinging onto Vivian's arm. "Ivy, stop being a whiny child! Eve, take him or I will take his dead body back." That seemed to have an effect on them since I haven't been serious for a while. Evelyn quickly dragged Ivy's whining butt and left me alone with Vivian. Things are about to get crazy. A howl interrupted our glaring contest, wolf appearing in front of us with low growls erupting from his deathly bloody mouth. "Uh oh-" I gulped, taking a few steps back but he stared at me with his red piercing eyes. "Hey... wolfie... that I don't the name of- how about you let me go? Huh?"

A smile spread across my face in fulfillment. I shut my eyes, prepared to embrace the inevitable, but suddenly, the air around me was filled with a captivating scent of vanilla and cinnamon. A strange sense of familiarity washed over me, and my dispirited wolf suddenly came alive. I opened my eyes at once, and the first person they landed on was the mysterious man I had encountered while being dragged to the stake. In that moment, my wolf screamed, "Mate!"

But all we could get is the metallic scent of blood wafting around the forest. A few minutes later, I heard a swoosh and saw something that dashed through the trees. “Did you see that?” Nathan mindlinked me and Raphal. “That was fast,” I responded over the mindlink while Raphal remained silent as we slowly form a circle. Finally, I caught a glimpse of the wolf and chased it. The wolf stopped when it sensed my presence and looked back at me. It had red eyes and fresh scars. I am certain that this is a feral wolf. I leaped towards it and bit his neck. Raphal and Nathan backed me up by biting his leg and tail. The feral wolf yelped and struggled for a bit until giving up and lie to death.

Lyra's POV Ice-blue eyes pierce the darkness, their intensity making me cringe. I stumble backward, my feet tangling in an unseen root. As I fall, a massive white wolf emerges from the shadows, its pristine fur marred by splatters of crimson. The coppery scent of blood fills my nostrils, growing stronger as the creature approaches, lips curled back to reveal razor-sharp teeth. The hunger radiating from it is palpable. No, not hunger – ravenous, all-consuming starvation.

RAYNE A deep growl came from the corner of the room. Bright red eyes burned into my skin. I stumbled back until my back hit the door. I ran back up the stairs I had fallen from. "Help! Somebody help!" A grey wolf slowly stepped out of the shadows. The flickering light inside the basement revealed a deep scar running through his left eye. The wolf made his way up the staircase. He lunged at me, his sharp claws missing me by just an inch. The sound of chains clinking echoed in the silence.

I have to keep running. I tripped as the ground fell out from under me. I went tumbling into a thick bush before I hit running water. It was deep. I came up out of the water begging for air. At the top of the trench I could hear my stalker pacing after me. The water was taking me away. I was escaping. The wolf stared me down. It's eyes glowed a yellow hew. The forest had been pitch black before. I dreamed in black and white... but its fur seems darker than black, like it could be color to my empty world.
