But the fresh, high-quality prey he sometimes brought back couldn't possibly have come from this outer part of the wilderness. I used to feel sorry for him, for all his hard work, and even offered to hunt with him. But he told me that the deep woods were filled with out-of-control Rogues and rabid beasts. A few more steps, and they were greeted by a breathtaking paradise.

He studied me for a moment longer, then nodded his head. “Stay close.” We moved deeper into the wilderness, the sound of howling wolves in the distance making my skin prickle. The enemy pack was hunting us but we needed to get to our pack. After what felt like hours of running, we finally reached the edge of neutral land. In front of us was a broken temple, its stone walls covered with ivy, a lost artifact from a period before blood feuds and packs.

The sun began its descent, casting long shadows over the landscape as Emily ventured deeper into the heart of the werewolf territory.
