Ivone's heart leapt into her throat, her heart racing with a primal fear as the werewolf's low, menacing growl shattered the silence of the night, echoing through her room like a warning from the depths of hell. Her eyes snapped open in a flash of adrenaline-fueled fear. Her mind reeled as she tried to process the horror that stood before her, her thoughts racing with primal fears and desperate prayers for escape.

I watched as he pulled out something from the kitchen drawer and raised it in the air. Horror washed through me as I realized what it was, and just then, the sound of a gunshot echoed through the kitchen. I opened my mouth and let out an ear splitting scream.

By now, we’ve all had more than a few drinks, and we’re halfway between tipsy and passed out. “Let’s tell scary stories,” Laura, one of my friends, suggests. “Are you sure that’s a good idea?” Kara asks. “These woods are spooky at night. I have to be able to sleep, you know.” “Maybe we should call one of those hunky forest rangers for you,” I suggest with a laugh. “He’d better bring a friend,” Laura says. “Or twelve,” Diana, another friend of mine, adds. We all laugh, and Laura starts in on the first story about night walkers, ghostly figures who march through the forest.

I darted my eyes away quickly-- "You promised," Al said all of a sudden. "What?" I paused in surprise. "No question asked," Al smirked, holding out his hand to me. I was grateful that he didn't ask into it. Night fell. So the thing about horror stories is that-- The fear kicks in only at dark nights when you are alone, not when you are at the crowded theater or on the bright street. Meaning-- I couldn't fall asleep that night. Turns out it's a bit hard to fall asleep when you don't close your eyes because you feel the need to stare at everything with alert.

Surprisingly, the man followed me without hesitation and we continued to walk until we reached a lonely spot. I thoroughly looked around before letting go of his hand. "Sorry for taking you away like that. I-" I said, looking up at the man, but my sentence was cut off by a shocked gasp. I stared at the man who stood in my front, the man whose hand I'd just held and I was utterly terrified. His eyes shone a bright red, his veins were glaringly visible all over his neck, his jaw and a little on his cheek. He grabbed a fistful of his hair and tilted his head back as his long and sharp teeth were exposed from his mouth.

Horror filled our features. Our eyes went wide as saucers. Oh sh*t! Sh*t! Sh*t!

I bolted my door shut and rested my back behind it. My mind seemed to be in shambles as it tried to wrap around the things that had happened. I sat down on the floor of my room and tucked my knees in front of me. Screams and cries echoed throughout the castle and in response, I placed my hands over my ears to try and silence them. The things William said to me were not merely scary stories that mothers told their children— they are real. This is the reason my father is scared of them. They are not like us— they are the blood drinkers.

She enchanted by his charm and kindness, but she also terrified of him. ****** The loud sound of thunder has awakened Calista from her sleep. She just realized that it was raining heavily.
