Dylan cracked a smile. "Are you alright?" Dylan nodded. "And this sword?" Theodore looked at the sword Dylan held in his hand. Dylan ran a hand over the head, "You came in a good time" Dylan dropped the subject, "give two hundred gold coins to the owner of the Tavern." Everyone looked at Dylan. Is she a noblewoman? Archie wondered. "Miss…" Theodore stared at Dylan intently. Dylan approached Theodore and whispered in his ear, "This tavern often suffers from looters because it's in the middle of Greavaria and Promor," he got away and broke into a smile.

Bari didn’t ask any further questions and led the group towards the tavern that was written on the scroll ‘Green Serpent Tavern’. Unlike the taverns in the other parts of the kingdom, this one reflected the true lifestyle of the gipsy where drinking was only one of the activities. There were performers, gamblers and even sporting events like blind-folded archery with live targets. “Do we have a name for the one you want to meet?” Bari asked in a low voice as they neared the tavern.

I took that opportunity to look around. The tavern was almost dark, except for a few torches that offered light and the whole place stunk of alcohol mixed with sweat. Sake bottles, goblets and huge beer mugs sat on every table. The men all drank heartily, some engaging in conversations or throwing darts. Whilst others, received lap dances from scantily dressed women.

He knew which inn would accommodate him, and he made his way towards it, the sound of Rive's hooves clacking against the stone road, heralding his arrival. Fairy tale inn was a tad famous within the city. It was an inn of a reputation, and while its rooms were nothing well above average, it gained its fame from its incessant fights. Most of those who came into its bars to drink, came only at the chance to witness a fight or have one of their own. They were never disappointed.

I never liked to be too predictable, either. Finally, I stopped in at the most expensive public baths. I treated myself to a luxurious soak and a rubdown. Clean, relaxed, and dressed in new clothes, I made my way to the Bell and Candle. It's a dark, dingy tavern - the kind of place where you'd expect to see thieves and members of the criminal underworld congregating in the corners, whispering and plotting. In fact, the clientele are mostly apprentices and journeymen craftsmen. They like the Bell and Candle because the beer is good, and cheap. Unfortunately, it's located a little too close to the tannery; when the wind shifts in the wrong direction, you get a reminder.

He leaned back with arms crossed while looking way too relaxed like everything was perfect. “But I need to ask—who do the knights have to fight to get your attention?” Dale gave him a stern look, obviously not enjoying the joking around. “Or maybe we just want a peaceful drink without being noticed?” I gave Dale a quick look to warn her, but I stayed friendly. “We’re fine with some attention. Don’t you think this place needs some fun?” “Excitement? Here?” Gabby laughed with a playful glint in his eyes. “This tavern is just packed with stories, rumors and booze. That's the real charm of this place—nothing else.”

Black and scaly with a beak full of jagged sharp teeth. In the distance a child cried, the sound cutting through the bleak night, as the moon shone down on quiet streets. I made my way across town to Sapiens, an old tavern that still operated on the outskirts of Briarshire. With my enhanced hearing I could make out the lowly chatter of patrons and the giggles coming from the women who worked there. It was a bar, but it also doubled as a bordello house.

Drinks were being served to unsavoury types crowded around small tables. There was the slightest of pauses in the intense furtiveness as we entered, and then normal furtiveness resumed. It was a dark and dingy establishment, full of shadowy corners and shady characters. Everyone had a weapon of some kind. Blades hung from belts, glinted from the tops of boots or lay within easy reach on the tables. Many of them had missing limbs.
