"We let them be with them," Serena replied. She was looking down at the busy streets of Paris. But her mind was over the things that she learned. Fae, dragons, and children that can destroy the world. And she has a mate. Serena sighed. She may have Rooka, but she cannot help but feel something was missing. Like a puzzle piece that was there but cannot never have that right slot to fit into.

She kicked the cane far out of his reach. “Serena….Serena, calm down. Killing him is not a solution.” Sedona inched closer to the girl. She was behaving, unlike Ophelia. Her friend’s anger was different, but this…this was scary. Is this because her power had no outlet for all these years? But then again she was a mix of fae and an oracle. Serena, however, hardly paid any attention to the other woman in the room. Her eyes gleamed golden and her mind flashed a vision.

But as the wooden bark wrapped itself tighter and tighter around Jacques and the others began to charge, she realised she couldn’t wait any longer. Just as she dashed through the trees to the clearing, Serena darted out of the abandoned house. Her jaw dropped as she saw what Skylar had done to Jacques, before fury completely took over. Serena welcome the fury, the further she embraced it the stronger her magic was, and right now, she was bloody furious. Flames suddenly erupted from Serena’s hands, readily awaiting her disposal. “Hey!” She roared, capturing Skylar’s attention.

As if Liuying’s life was worth less than a flea on a rogue’s back. Liuying’s voice trembled, her scent souring with fear. "I am a First-Rank Omega serving Luna Queen Eleanor! You wouldn't dare kill a servant within the Royal territory!" Serena let out a sharp, amused laugh. "Why do they keep sending me the stupid ones? It’s so boring." She stepped closer; her predatory gaze fixed on Liuying’s bloodless face. "You’ve been in the packhouse for so long, yet you don’t know why I was exiled to The Silent Abbey?"

With Reynard’s approaching steps, I pushed back and away from him in confusion and fright. "Tell me which one is the true Serena? The one I am looking at now, who cares and is open to showing her emotions, or the one who only likes to follow Daxon’s lead." As he stopped in front of me and explained his question better, I understood he had yet to find out there were more shades to Serena than he could ever expect. For instance, Serena, was in contact with him all this time when she was in her sister’s body. "Oh!" I looked down to take a deep breath.

“This is Drake… Galatia’s beta. He’s not trying to confuse you. He’s showing you respect.” My gaze snapped to Galatia at that, my eyes narrowing slightly. “Respect for what?” I asked, my voice quieter now but edged with something sharp. “Because last I checked, I’m just a human who got dragged into something I don’t understand.” Galatia finally moved then, stepping closer, his eyes on me in a way that made my chest tighten just a little. “That’s the problem,” he said, his voice low and steady. “You’re not just human, Serena… and it’s time you stop running from that.”

Raine POV Ten minutes later the door opens and the woman walks in. “Raine, right?” I nod. “Who are you?” “I’m Serena, Kai’s mate.” Mate? “No.” “Yes, he’s my mate. Here’s something to remember.” She grabs my hair and drags me up. “You’re nothing. You’re not here to be his Luna. I’m the Luna. You’re here to be a slave. You’re here so we can use your magic to protect our pack.”

#Livia’s POV “Forgive the intrusion, Lord Hartwell,” a soft, sweet voice called out. A young woman stepped into the room carrying a small wooden tray with a glass of lukewarm water and a folded linen cloth. She wore the clean white and blue robes of a junior healer. Her light honey brown hair was pulled back neatly, framing a youthful, strikingly kind face with bright, compassionate green eyes. Serena. My breath caught in my throat. I braced myself for the sudden surge of hatred I expected to feel – the fury toward the woman whose testimony had sealed my death sentence, the healer who had claimed my herbs were used to poison Alpha Magnus.

She frowns at Kai and Ash. “Explain. Now.” She puts her hand on Eliza’s forehead, Ash looks at Kai who shrugs, Ash rolls his eyes and sighs, “Crow told her what she is, and she freaked out and passed out. I’m not sure if we should tell you without her saying it’s okay though, sorry.” She nods and sighs closing her eyes, then grunts, “That’s sensible, keep the healer in the dark.” Kai groans, “Fine, she’s a Demigoddess, a phoenix.” She looks at him raising an eyebrow, Kai sighs, “I’ll apologise to her for telling you, if I have to.” Serena looks at Crow, who shrugs.
