The Villainess Wants To Live

The Villainess Wants To Live

Reading a romance novel was something that I secretly enjoyed but usually never had enough time to do due to my busy schedule. Since I was a kid, I had always loved fairy tales. The kind of stories that drew me in, and made me feel like I was transported into a magical world, and feel emotions like fear, happiness, worry, or excitement - to name a few. It felt good to be away from the harsh reality, even if it was only for a while. Because in fairy tales, they always end with ‘happily ever after’. Anyway, I stumbled upon this novel when I was browsing for something light to read. The title was a bit cringy. 'I Became The Crown Prince's Wife'. But apparently it was quite popular these days am

Therianthrope: A New Kind of Curse

Therianthrope: A New Kind of Curse

Fairies in real life had nothing to do with what she saw on television or read in books. Fairies were not happy, wish granting, playful little winged creatures. They were bawdy, strong warriors that were some of the best fighters in existence. Apparently, someone came up with the idea of “fairy tales” as a crude joke against fairies. If all other fairies were like Donovan, it was a joke they didn’t find funny…at all! He could get violent over the mention of Peter Pan, Lily found out about that the hard way.

A Kingdom of Corruption and Chaos

A Kingdom of Corruption and Chaos

He glanced up at Genie for just a moment, and she just nodded. We had all heard about the forests of Fairy, and it wasn't the Fae that you had to watch out for. Hell, there weren't even any predatory animals in that forest. No, the plants there were the predators. They can and will stalk and kill just as well as any animal, honestly, most people say they do even better. Spewing toxic substances, creating illusions to draw in their prey. It was the most dangerous terrain in the realm next to the dead plains.

Once Upon a Tryst

Once Upon a Tryst

So often I felt like I was walking around in a fog, waiting to start living. Until Arthur, that is. He makes me feel like I’m really alive, like I’ve fallen into one of those stories. The problem is, not all fairytales have happy endings. In fact, most of the early tales were quite gruesome morality tales designed to warn and scare. They were never meant to be a guide for how to live your life. I take a sharp right turn down a long corridor of books. I know my way by heart and soon find my favorite bench, near a window, with all my favorite books. Today didn’t feel like a fairy tale day. I feel like fantasy has failed me.

Leave it to Everleigh to make a person long for their own broody, sexy dragon. Seriously though, I couldn't put this book down. The world this author has created is so vibrant and fun it makes you want to dive in to the pages.
Sarah.
I really loved the book, I wish there were more like it on this app. The characters are charming and the story is beautifully written, the premise makes me want to continue reading the other books. I hope there will be lots more like this one and maybe even longer

The Children of Thunder

The Children of Thunder

“That does not count as a bedtime story,’’ Babybaby finally found her voice. “It is child,’’ the thunder god answered. “No it’s not’’ Babybaby insisted quite stubbornly. “bedtime stories are supposed to be a nice tales with happy ending, all bedtime fairytales are, like the ones Amaka used to read to me, this one is a stupid story.’’ “Babybaby hush it’’ Orchid started, fearing the frown on Shango’s face. “What is a fairytale?’’ he asked instead. “Well it’s the best story there is, a prince falls in love with a princess, a bad witch not happy with the arrangement pokes nose into the matter, the prince cuts her great big nose with his shiny sword, rides away with his love and everybody lives h

A Fairytale's End

A Fairytale's End

The woman I had always thought was ordinary and gentle was in fact the only heiress of the top-tier Stone family in the capital. She married my reckless gambler of a father for love, severed ties with her family, and never contacted them again until her death. My grandfather had only her as a daughter. He treated me, his only grandson, with overwhelming affection. All these years, I thought the road I paved for Sienna was earned through sheer effort. I had given everything, sacrificing my body, my health, to raise her from an extra to the top actress. My grandfather saw my efforts and quietly arranged resources behind the scenes.

Zac said in a funny way but it seemed like Caroline didn’t enjoy the joke at all. Caroline glared at Zac with hatred. “Please don’t mind him” I said to end the awkwardness. She ignored me and moved forward towards the kitchen. “Well. Here is the spot where I usually find my daughters spoiling the food most of the times” my father giggled to make the environment funny. “Come on. Not all the times dad.” Anna laughed. The kitchen was an open galley style with top quality appliances, storage galore, all the cooking utensils you would find at home, and fabulous views.

Call of Destiny

She chuckled to hide her embarrassment but maybe she was liking this impossible fantasy too! I didn’t know how to reply to that and kept staring at her. Her breath mixed with mine and I could smell our hot breathes. She turned her gaze back to the sky and taking in a deep breath she spoke, “You know when I was a kid, my mother used to read me fairy tales! Those story where there is always a handsome prince who falls in love with the princess, or the beast who falls in love with the beauty! Those stories made me believe from a young age that someday I will also find my prince who would love me and we will build our own world full of love and happiness!”
