He Believed Her Lies; Now He'll Never Hear My Truth

He Believed Her Lies; Now He'll Never Hear My Truth

As the car pulled away, Damian's figure grew smaller and smaller in the rearview mirror, until he disappeared completely into the rain. Leo was still fuming. "After everything he's done to you, why do you still go back to see them?" I turned my head and watched the rain roll down the window, tracing lines across the glass like tears. It took me a long time before I finally whispered, "You don't understand… They weren't like this… In the past…" Leo didn't believe me. By the time he had met me, Damian and Ethan both only had their eyes on Vivian.

Love of lies

Love of lies

May her soul not Rest In Peace because she never gave me peace. As I entered the building, I saw the police chief being interviewed by some reporters. Am I the only one that thinks reporters are jobless, like seriously who has time to even watch some bullshit news talk less of writing about it? As I entered the elevator, in a minute or less, it reached my house floor. Stepping out of the elevator, I came across Maria. I really wished she was the one the police are investigating of. "Well, well, well, if it isn’t Tara James Philip, the chief executive manager of the number one global company in town." She said

The Lie that Binds

The Lie that Binds

As he finished, the blood in her veins turned to ice. She felt the ground tilt beneath her, her entire mission twisting into something unrecognizable, something wrong. This wasn’t what the file had said. This wasn’t what Langley had briefed her on. They had painted Stefano De Ricco as the thief, the arms dealer, the tyrant hoarding a weapon of mass destruction. But the truth… it wasn’t black and white. It was ash and bloody red. Her fingers dug into her palm as she fought to keep her expression neutral. One flinch, one misplaced breath, and he’d see it. The knowledge. The betrayal.

All for the Money

All for the Money

This was Faith's journal. He flipped some more pages. In the beginning, nothing was all that interesting in the book. It was just about daily life. Some of her stories showed that she had a tough life. She wrote about how hard she worked to support her family and her sick father. It wasn't anything new Anthony didn't already know about. His chest felt heavy as he kept reading. Faith's life hadn't been easy. Her father was so cruel to her. So, no wonder she had a hard time trusting men. Trusting him.

Ms. York's Second Proposal

Ms. York's Second Proposal

She looked incredibly lonely. Who wouldn't perceive a woman trying to make a man stay by using her own body as miserable? But without doing this, she had no chance of progressing her relationship with him at all. … Liam would always check someone's transaction history when he looked into his or her background. He printed hundreds of pages of Leah's financial report after she came back to Taverdale. He marked a few suspicious-looking transactions. Leah was not an honest person in the slightest. There were a few transactions where she transferred money to media reporters during certain vital events. Liam found out about all of that, too.

The Lies They Told in Sicily

The Lies They Told in Sicily

One refusal, and my cover would be completely blown. I opened the car door, hands tucked into the pockets of my trench coat, squinting toward the man in front of the vehicle. He was my contact for the deal. Known as “Mad Dog” Bill, he was an outlaw who had built his empire through smuggling. Brutal and insane, his hands were stained with countless lives. “Got the goods?” he asked lazily, hopping out of the car and sizing me up with a greedy look. I forced down my unease and pointed toward the trunk. “They’re in there. Take a look for yourself.”

A little Bit of Faith

A little Bit of Faith

“I saw it.” Noah rushes out “Witnessed him hurting you. I tried to protect you, threatened him, and told him if he didn’t stop I would hurt him. But I was a kid, Faith. I didn’t know what to do. Who would believe me when you always appeared so perfect and happy all the time?” The only thing I can do is stand and stare. There is no one emotion that can embody my feeling of just complete emotional defeat. All these lies of omission eventually added up. Building until it grew so big it all just explodes at one momentous occasion in my kitchen.

I truly fell in love with this book! So many emotions while reading this book. Very well written and relatable. I'm glad to see authors supporting other authors. Otherwise I may not have came across this book. I can't wait to read more of your work.

This book isn’t the typical man whore teenage high school story. I love it. It breaks the norm. Full of drama if u need it, but not too much that ur suffocating from it. This book teaches the importance of healing from physical violence. Both main and both sub characters are amazing. Just loved it!

Mr. Bossy Billioanaire and I

Mr. Bossy Billioanaire and I

Thomas was blown away by her openness and vulnerability. Leah had accepted blame for a betrayal she could not even remember. She’d chosen to believe him. To trust him when all he’d done was lie to her, trick her, and punish her. It was enough to bring any man to his knees. Thomas started to walk toward her, but he’d gone only a few steps before the phone in his hand rang. He saw his lead investigator’s number and answered. “That was fast.” “I can tell you about your wife’s father right now, Mr. Alexander.” Barr paused. “Do the names Chase Johnson and Justin De Nero mean anything to you?”

The Lie After Thanksgiving

The Lie After Thanksgiving

And since Iris had already shoved her face right in front of me, why would I pass up the chance to slap back? I had my brother arrange for Felix to be sent abroad, then I gathered all the materials I needed and prepared to go to war with those shameless traitors. Coincidentally, the private investigator I'd hired to look into Silas and Iris returned that same night, fully briefed on every detail of their relationship. I stayed up all night organizing the evidence, sorting it into several sections, and handed them off to a few tabloid accounts my brother had lined up. I instructed them to release the full truth—piece by piece.

LIES OF HOPE

LIES OF HOPE

Nothing good could come of dwelling on things I couldn’t change, even if I had wanted to – which I didn’t. I did another search, this time focusing on the New Orleans area and unearthed a story about an officer who had heroically charged an armed gunman and saved the life of the fifteen-year-old hostage. The policeman had been shot, but had recovered and received a commendation for his bravery. That lawman was my very own Jason Anders. I located several more stories about the superhero cop and a few references in articles about different cases, but no personal information. I was about to give up, when I happened upon a piece devoted to the sexiest bachelors in Louisiana. Lo and behold, there
