I had already surrendered.
“Some boundaries,” he whispered, voice low, breath brushing mine, “are meant to be broken.”
I shivered, pulse racing, mind alight with fire, fear, and desire. “And we… we’re breaking them together?”
“Yes,” he said, dark smirk returning, eyes smoldering. “Because once the fire has you… there’s no going back. You’re mine. You’ve always been mine. And you’re already lost.”
Even as the shadows shifted around us, even as danger lingered, even as my chest ached from fear and desire, I knew the truth. The fire, the obsession, the peril—everything had escalated. There were no safe places anymore
