Her apartment was quiet. Peaceful. She dropped her bag, kicked off her heels, and leaned against the wall. For a moment, she closed her eyes. But instead of silence— Him. His voice. His gaze. The way he stood too close without touching her. She opened her eyes quickly. “No,” she whispered to herself. This wasn’t happening. She wasn’t losing control. Not over him. Across the city, Damon stood by the window of his office, overlooking the skyline. His mind wasn’t on business.

I feel pity for the big guy. Right now, Roman and I are in a stand-off against his cousins Menandro and Lara in a game called Sapo. It meant Choke the Frog, but without an actual frog. Below it is a cushion and I guess it involves falling on it. There is a table on the side where someone is sitting and there is a machine next to him with a TV screen. You will be asked a question and if your answer is traced as a lie, the one on the platform will fall. The game has finally started. Complete mayhem breaks out. I take a glimpse at Matt, only to find him staring astonished at the moving walls. My brain is frozen trying to find a logical explanation of what is happening around us. Platforms of all sizes stand out at different heights, while the floor is falling apart. I duck just in time before the surface under my feet breaks into small particles and vanishes in the bottomless abyss. We all start jumping and grabbing the newly formed prominences, away from the hole in the ground and moving up to a safer spot.

Some sat on the couch and some on the floor. Laura and I found a spot and dropped to the floor, sitting cross legged like the others. I guess I didn't have to worry about a game like this one. People rarely paid any attention to me. A guy from Class C dropped a bottle at the center of the makeshift circle and I guess the game had officially begun.
