Black dots covering her vision completely and her legs becoming numb while her head is becoming dizzy from a 'mysterious' sound, almost making her ears deaf. As she started to stand up to hold them both, she ended up slumping down on the cold and hard stone floor causing a loud and wretched thud sound instead. It could frighten and cringed anyone's heart out as they hear that heart wrenching sound. Clearly, it was a painful and harsh fall but she didn't even had the strength to feel that stinging pain on her body before a sudden choking and gripping pain crept it's way up to her entire heart, seemingly a fist is clenching her heart to bleed painfully till it burst. But I failed. Heavy pants escaped my lips as my fatigued lungs threatened to collapse. My heart was beating in a magnitude that dared to rupture my chest cavity to shreds. If that actually happened I might have probably begged God to let me replace my runaway heart with a rock. Seriously, a cardiac malfunction has become rampant these days, I was just trying to not fall into that hole. Bending over as I rested my hands on my knees, I tried to catch my breath and steady the rate of my deafening heartbeats. It seemed to be beating a hundred times per minute instead of the normal pace which is seventy-two.

I pleaded in a shaky voice, my knees suddenly felt weak, so I sat down, not minding that people were passing by and watching me. "Your mom collapsed and when the doctors examined her, they said she was getting worse and she had just a few weeks-" I didn't listen to the rest of what he had to say. I ran down the staircase as my chest tightened. I swallowed the lump in my throat as I kept pushing through the wind, running as fast as my little legs could carry me. Tears kept falling from my eyes but I didn't bother to clean them.

I shrieked in fear when he turned around in my direction. I stepped back to run away, but my heel hits a stone behind me and I fell to the ground. God, I am just really unlucky, aren’t I? The chances of me dying are high, yet my clumsiness resurfaced now of all times. I started moving backward, still on the ground, when he slowly walked up to me. He had a black cap and a mask on, a black hoodie with a white shirt underneath. He looked gigantic to me, I think he’s about five feet eleven or taller.

He let out a blood curdling scream as the agony of desire raged through his tormented body. His breathing became shallow and his skin pasty as he closed the distance. With waning strength he collapsed at the base of the door, managing to push it forward and his eyes feasted on the images he saw. The old world was calling him. Fake promises, deception. Let go, Finn! Give in!

He looked pained, like he didn’t want to hear that. “You’re not,” he said quietly. “But I am, Jillian,” I whispered. “Because I’m falling for you. And I hate it.” His breath hitched. For once, he had no words. I turned away, but he caught my wrist again—gentler this time. “I’m falling too, Christy,” he said. “That’s why this is so messed up.” I froze. “I never wanted to feel anything for you. This marriage… it was supposed to be a contract. A means to an end. But now… I can’t stop thinking about you. Even when I try. Even when Alyssa’s in front of me, I can’t stop thinking about you.”

His voice trembled, and his face turned pale. "I don't see a future for us," I said. "Let's divorce."

Cross' POV Staring at her with my lips slightly parted, I felt my heart clench against my chest in full force. “Let's get your legs back." She said crouching next to me but I wheeled my chair away from her, grasping the tires as I began to hyperventilate. My reaction was not because I was mad at her or anything, it was solely borne out of shock. This was the first time someone had demonstrated this kind of care and attention to me despite having a family.
