“That didn’t sound like nothing,” he pressed, irritation creeping in.
“It’s not important,” she deflected, a knowing smile dancing on her lips.
A moment later, Nancy returned, arms filled with potential treasures. “Okay, I’m done.”
“That was fast,” Victoria observed with a hint of awe.
“I don’t like overthinking things,” Nancy replied, her confidence refreshing.
Andrew nodded slowly. “...That’s new for you.”
“You’ll get used to it,” she winked, an infectious smile lighting up her face.
