I was busy checking my notes in my bag, so by the time I reached the parking lot, I hadn’t seen the messed-up condition of the garden. I finished looking for my notes and lifted my head. The wind blew gently through the trees, but it was the hair on the *heads* swaying with the wind that made horror strike me. “What—” I gasped, stepping back and trying to put as much distance as possible between me and the garden. “What the fuck is that?” I finally forced some words out of my mouth, but they wouldn’t do much good—those in the garden couldn’t respond to me. “I didn’t see her. Why was she looking for me?” Sharon frowned. “She said she was heading to the restroom and would catch you on the way. Lucy POV Lunch was terrific, but it was bizarre how Killian just sent us away. I was feeling pretty tired anyway, so laying down and maybe watching a movie with girls would be nice. Using the distraction, I exited the tent and made my way down the stone-paved path in the garden. We had a beautiful garden because mom had hired the best landscapers she could. A cold chill filled the air, rustling the leaves on the tall trees. It wasn't that I hated nature, I just hated nature in the God damn dark.
