You've got to be f*cking kidding me. Back in my room, I groan when I try in what should be about the hundredth code combination. It blares red. Wrong. Once I'd returned to Veloria, I set about to reading the book's content. But just as I flipped the thick cover, I was met with resistance. With each repeated try, I grew frustrated. Until I turned the book over. A mystical binding. In form of a code combination. Who knows what the f*ck Faerin had used as her password.

Mercy made every rotten part of me visible. The first Blood Feather book snapped open above my head, its pages bleeding black ink faster than the wind could turn them. A sentence wrote itself across the open page, and every wolf on the field saw it at the same time. The child promised before breath belongs to the throne before he belongs to the mother. My knees weakened. “No,” I said again, louder this time, because motherhood was the only truth I had left that Blood Feather had not completely stolen. The book wrote another line beneath the first, crueler and darker, as if my refusal had amused whatever old hunger lived inside it.

Zhang fei fei noticed the change Thanatos caused by this brief moment, though he is not the fate keeper he is still the keeper of the twisted book of fate so he knows whenever somebody change fate. Turning around under him I snake my arms around his neck, pulling him to me. “It’s a book about” I stop to think how to word the book, but all i can think is that it reads like a supernatural p**n book and i love it. “It has a Fae that can grow an extra dick made of ice” Maddox pulls back and frowns at me. “You're reading a book about other mens dicks, are you for real?” He growls out at me and I can't help but smirk at his jealousy.

Felix eagerly took the item from Leslie and saw it was a medical book. "Was Mr. Hoffman keeping this from me?" Felix cursed at his stingy mentor. "Why are all the pages blank?" He flipped through the book, only to find it empty. "Mr. Hoffman said you need to bind it with your blood to access its contents," Leslie explained. Felix's excitement grew. If it required a blood-binding ritual, it had to be something extraordinary. He pricked his finger and dripped blood onto the book. Like the harmonica, the book vanished and became one with his body.

He holds onto her shoulders as he tries to kiss her lips. "No, you have beer breath. Go to bed and I'll help Nathan," she says as she gives him a gentle push to the stairs. He stumbles up the steps as Faye hands me my glasses and has to help me push them onto my face. "I can see you now," I mumble as Faye holds my elbow and helps me up the stairs. My feet keep missing the steps and it takes a few minutes for me to make it up to the landing. "You can stay in the spare room," Faye says and moves me by my elbow. I hear Aaron calling Faye from their bedroom so I follow her in and see him laying in the bed with the blanket pulled to his chin.

I called out as she ducked through the tent flap. I fell back against the pillows, Lyra let out a soft gurgle, and Caelum shifted in his sleep, his little emerald aura pulsing softly. "Did you hear that, my loves?" I whispered to the babies. "St. Maya and the Book-Boy. The North is officially losing its mind." A moment later, Félix entered, looking tired but happy. He saw my face—the wide eyes, the lingering grin—and immediately looked suspicious. "What?" he asked, sitting next to me.

After two days of high temperatures and intense boredom, he remembered the three books. Sam pulled out the one with the Mummy on the cover, because it looked the most innocuous. It was entitled the Ninth Pan Book of Horror Stories. He wasn’t the least bit prepared for what he found inside. The first three stories involved emasculation, murder and burning at the stake. In his fevered state Sam felt he was not only watching the characters’ suffering, he was experiencing it along with them. He flung the book at the wall and then hid it again, wishing he could burn it like Jinnot, the young girl in the third story who was burned alive.
