As she makes eye contact with Eliana, she smiles and tosses the rag onto her shoulder. Eliana's gaze is drawn to the pendent dangling around the woman's neck. It is a paw. It is thicker than that of a wolf. Fear now the dominant trait overrunning Eliana's body, she tries to shove the stranger away as an anguished gasp escapes her body. "You are werebears!"

But she always thought those were rumors to scare kids away from the back mountain.

I jogged up the incline, boots kicking gravel as I neared the clearing near the southern wall. The scent of unfamiliar wolves hit me immediately. But it was the female’s scent that threw me off. His muscular arms grabbed my petite waist firmly. “Keep quiet madam” one of them sneered at me from behind. I punched his rigid back with all the strength I had in me, but he didn't flinch.

I had used the route countless times when coming from Briarshire. “If you think that’s best, then that’s the way we will go.” I nod at Finn in thanks for once again backing me up and not questioning me. When in reality the giant werebear held more authority and power than all of us put together. Just as everything was finished loading, I felt Leneve near and looked up to catch her gaze. I’m frozen by her beauty, my eyes glued to her until a young female changeling drops an armful of things that clatter to the ground.
