Dante's Pov Life had a way of messing with me. Who would have thought i’d still see her again, the girl from the club, The one i killed for. Honestly i had forgotten about her but yet i did not have any explanation for my action,i could not even decipher why i did what i did. She was however different from the way i saw her at the club last week. I had learnt she was a Medical doctor, a surgeon to be precise she must really be smart. She was however different in every way from the women in the mafia.

Where did I even start? I decided to start in the medical section, where I found a book on ancient diseases. That seemed like a good enough place to begin, so I settled at one of the old wooden tables and began to read. I pored over every word, every footnote… everything. Nothing. So I moved on to the next book. Then the next. And the next. Hours passed. My eyes grew strained, but I kept reading and reading and reading. I read about incurable wasting diseases, afflictions of the blood, even folk tales about punishments of the Moon Goddess.

As soon as my head hits the mattress, I find myself being pulled into another dreamless slumber. Medical texts, botanical journals, things written in languages I couldn’t even name. “How is no one reading these?” I muttered to myself. “All this knowledge just sitting here, collecting dust...” I pulled out a book on rare healing roots and flipped through it as I walked, scanning the pages for anything that resembled my father’s condition. I didn’t even realize I wasn’t alone until my foot caught on something.

Charlie took out the pocket-sized book carefully and saw ‘Apocalyptic Book’ written in ancient script on the title page. “The name is quite interesting, I wonder what is written inside.” Charlie flipped the book and read its contents. It looked like a large bookstore… As far as one could see, there were all kinds of ancient medical books. This place was even bigger than her master’s library! Yaksha led them to a bookshelf. He then extended his hand and retrieved three books before placing them in Xyla’s hands. The three medical books all had indigo covers.
