Naomi perched backward on a chair beside me, craned her neck to read the title.
“‘Vale Pack Charter: Draft One,’” she read aloud. “Very official. Very dramatic. Ten out of ten, would litigate.”
Across the table, Harlan squinted at the first page through his glasses. “You wrote… an entire code,” he said slowly, as if tasting the words. “From scratch.”
“With help,” I said. “Morwen, Bella, Cassian, some very opinionated teenagers—”
“And me,” Naomi cut in. “As your unofficial lawyer. Who, might I remind you, once passed the bar.”
