Even without seeing him, I could picture his warm, considerate expression.
I hummed in response, my tone unconsciously softening. “And here I thought someone busy should be resting by now.”
“I just got home from my book signing event,” he said, his voice carrying a trace of fatigue. “But now that you’re gone, the house feels a little too empty. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to it.”
There was a brief pause. Then, with a hint of amusement, he added, “I booked a flight for the day after tomorrow. I think it’s about time I officially meet your parents, don’t you?”
