I could see fire blazing above me, hear the screaming of those caught in the flames, as I continued to claw my way back to the surface. I am Ember’s only hope of survival. My mate needs me and I’m not going to let some elves bury me alive, leaving her to die. When the earth begins slowly closing beneath us, I push to the surface again, lifting my head in the air, trying to find her scent among the scent of fire, water, earth, and air, intermingled with burned flesh and blood. I hear a scream of agony a moment before we’re all blown off our feet by the strongest blast of fire I’ve ever seen or felt. I roll when I feel my fur burning, quickly extinguishing the fire on my body.

I didn’t want to argue with her in front of Justin, so I said, "I need you to come with me." "I’m not coming with you, and you can’t fire him," She said. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. But the flames seemed angry, relentless to eat the structure alive.

Flynn let out a strangled sob. “My children. My son… my daughter… they are just babies.” He stood up. “I can’t live without my kids. I need to get them out.” The firefighter stopped him. “You can’t go in there. No one can.” Flynn nodded and moved back. The firefighter turned to a colleague approaching him. Noticing the distraction. Flynn took off running right into the fire. The firefighter turned lunging at him but Flynn slipped his grip headed towards the fire. “Hold him!”

Boom Another deafening explosion sends shockwaves through the air, jolting me back to reality. Desperation takes over, and I frantically search for an escape route. The smoke chokes my lungs, making it hard to breathe. Panic rises within me as I realize that I am running out of time. Fire is everywhere around me. The suffocating smoke engulfs me, and I struggle to breathe. There is no way out. Tears mix with the soot on my face as I realize that I might not make it out of this raging fire alive.

All of my men are running around frantically, shouting and trying to put out the fire. I can feel the heat from the flames even from this distance, and I'm filled with anger as I realize how serious the situation is. This has to be the handiwork of one of my enemies. I see Firefighters rushing around, trying to set up hoses and get to the heart of the blaze. I can hear the crackling of flames and the sound of glass breaking as the heat becomes more intense. I call Jordan. "I am here. Where the fuck are you?" I growl.
