Fiona stared at the glowing fireflies, lost in thought. She used to see fireflies often as a child, but they had become rare as she grew older. She was pleasantly surprised to find so many here. Soon she jumped into the pond. With no one around in the dead of night, she could enjoy a relaxing swim and take a bath. The pond was deep, with a bed of smooth pebbles. The water was crystal clear, fed by a mountain spring.

Fireflies lazily swayed around like twinkling stars. The scenery at night is indeed breathtaking. The water is as clear as the transparent crystal, flowing in the calm current. You can see the fishes swimming around, with the splotch of the small waves sometimes dribbled on the water surface as those creatures inside living their life to the fullest. The chirping of cicadas chanting across the bushes enlightened the tranquility of the area.

Maybe there was a way I could transcend into another plain since I could no longer function in this one. Through my watered-down vision, I saw something twinkling in the light. It seemed to be moving. That was all I needed. I ran toward it, desperate to find any answers at all. It was a firefly that seemed to be flying in a pattern. Other fireflies shone around it, but like every other thing there, they were frozen as well. I watched it, enthralled as I wondered how this little creature had been able to evade the spell every other thing seemed to have been cast by.
