And together, we’ll get through this.” Ralph nodded, a small smile on his lips. “Okay,” he said. “Let’s go see the pack doctor.” We helped Ralph out of bed and into the car. The drive to the pack doctor was silent, each of us lost in our thoughts. I couldn’t help but think that this was all my fault. But I pushed those thoughts aside, knowing I needed to be strong for Ralph. The pack doctor examined Ralph, and after a few minutes of examination, he looked at us with a serious face. “I’m afraid Ralph’s injury is more severe than I thought. It’s not healing properly, and I’m not sure why.”

The earth rocked suddenly, a surge of dizziness pouring over her. Her knees nearly buckled as she staggered backward. Tears brimmed in her eyes, and not simply because of the pain but also because of the utter disgrace. Ralph stared at her with nothing but pure disgust and anger. “Look what you’ve done! You’ve ruined my expensive suit!!!” he hissed in a low deadly whisper. "Are you cursed with the gift of spilling things over people?" “Well, don’t just stand there like a useless idiot! Clean this mess up,” Sir Burke growled impatiently.

Ralph, barely able to move and covered in blood, suddenly cried out, his voice cracking. "Mr. Lloyd! You're here! Please, help me—I don't wanna die!" He screamed with desperate joy and tried to crawl toward Andrew. Andrew cursed under his breath, "Shut up, you idiot! Don't make a sound!" However, it was too late. The Dire Tiger, though momentarily distracted, let out a thunderous roar and snapped its head around. In an instant, it lunged and clamped its massive jaws down on Ralph's skull.

I knew he would never listen to me, but one more thing I have enjoyed during my stay in this world is how comfortable I can be with others without being addressed as a prince or a superior. "They should be here by now. I will leave for the interview," Ralph said and bowed before heading out. I watched him leave before standing and heading towards the water cooler to get a glass of water for myself, but my loosened tie, which was only swung around my neck, pulled the picture frame that was on my table, and it fell. I groaned as I bent down to pick up the pieces of the broken glass from the picture frame. I had forgotten and lost focus when one piece of glass pierced my finger.

I give him my yes, and ended the call after moments of talking about my first day with Gabby. The rest of the working day was quite boring, but Ralph would come and chat with us. He was working at the clinic part-time while continuing his college education. He was actually pretty nice, despite his repetitive flirts on the first day that I met him. "So, you and Walt... you guys look good together. I'm guessing you already see your future self with him? I'm right, aren't I?" he asked smirking, giving me his boyish looks. "Yup, I'm seeing yours too, a bad one if you kept on wearing those ugly green sneakers." He looked at his sneakers instantly.

"Stop!" From the trees, a huge gray wolf — Karl — burst out at full speed, snarling, teeth bared. Reeves turned the gun on him. "No!" I screamed. I didn't pulse. I pulled. Instead of pushing power out, I yanked it in, dragging every bit of electronic energy from the gun, from Reeves' radio, from his watch. The pistol clicked, dead. The radio sparked and died. Karl hit Reeves chest-high and knocked him into the lake. Reeves went under, came up sputtering.

She still had a few abilities… just no wolf. I sighed, letting go of the thought as Ralph looked confused for a minute and shook out of it. “Damn. I could swear I was sitting a few minutes ago,” he reached behind his head, looking around cluelessly. “I could use a drink.” After a few shots, he left to carry on his duties with his face still a makeup wreck. He didn't care about the weird stares. He walked with sass and showed it off proudly like they were done by his girls. Now I started to dread Karin fancying the idea of ball gowns and dresses. Goddess! If she thought to put me in a dress, how do I get out of that?

“You really think you can get in?” “I know I can,” I said with a smile. “I built a virus in college that took down an entire lab’s encrypted system just for fun. Jeremiah’s fancy walls? They’re impressive. But they were built by men. And everything built by man… can be broken by a woman with the right motivation.” Alister whooped. Henry’s grin stretched wide, slow and proud. “Remind me never to get on your bad side.” I looked at him across the table, letting a smirk curl at the edge of my lips.

Another fucking disaster. The Floral shirt I wore was already torn in several places. It was a mess. My shorts were still in one piece but the sand had found its way to some very awkward places. I'd bet half my life there was sand in my ass. I dusted the sand on my short blonde hair on impulse. There was sand everywhere. The sand wasn't the most annoying part. My phone was in my pocket and bringing it out revealed a nasty break across the screen. It was dead. I tossed it angrily at the open sea aiming for nothing in particular.
