Sparks Fly

Sparks Fly

He easily socialized with the kids around him. It was a peaceful afternoon, filled with the laughter of children, the distant chirping of birds, and the soothing rustle of leaves in the gentle breeze. Sofia felt content, grateful for these moments of simple joy with her son. She never needed much to be happy, or satisfied. A drone flew to where the kids were playing, and they "oohed," and "aahed," at its maneuvers. Tyler, in particular, was downright amazed. It was obviously his first time seeing one, and Sofia immediately made a mental note to get him one.

Before love Lies

Before love Lies

Bella – POV The plane ride was silent. Not the kind of silence that felt peaceful— The kind that pressed in on you. Heavy. Final. Every second in the air felt like a countdown we couldn’t stop. No turning back. No rerouting. No more hiding. I sat across from John, my hands folded tightly in my lap, staring at nothing—and everything—at the same time. Because once we landed… Everything would change. Everything had to. A voice crackled softly in John’s ear.

Fly to the Moon

Fly to the Moon

My face was all serious with both my hands on my pockets trying to breathe fine. It’s another day to build up this hope that she will be back. Jethro still didn’t approve of what I just said to him the other day. I don’t know what came up to me that I suddenly uttered those words. Not wanting to sound like giving up, I immediately changed my mind. Some dark idea clouded my head that time. When he said that I should fly to my moon.

Girl, where should I start? I love your plot, I wish I had a phone like that. I feel like I'm living in their skin!! I cried with Airo because of his brother and then with Ciana finding her Mom. You have a great story here, and I hope to see Airo in that phone when she pics him again. <3 <3 <3

The Charismatic Charlie Wade

The Charismatic Charlie Wade

Bowen laughed, "If you ask me, you shouldn't bother with Antarctica. Why don't you come with me to America? People always called America paradise, a nation of indulgence and decadence. Now that you have a year to yourself, why not enjoy it? Lady Fleur only told us to go looking for anything we can use, but nothing about producing results. So? What do you think?" Barlin shook his head and chuckled, "Never liked crowds. I'm not about to indulge when it stressed me out." Hearing that, Bowen didn't argue and smiled politely. "Very well, I wish you a fruitful trip in Antarctica, brother." Just then, another air stewardess approached Bowen with a polite smile. "Mr. Griffin? You can now board your

From Omega To Pregnant Luna

From Omega To Pregnant Luna

“Don’t worry. I won’t tell anyone your secret, Reed. It’s safe with me.” When he looks back at me, I make a zipping motion over my lips with my fingers. Reed gives me a grateful look at that and then focuses on keeping us steady in the air. The rest of our flight is steadier and filled with beautiful scenery. At one point, we fly over a car with children in it. They all gasp and point at us, but when their parents turn their heads, we are already gone. We continue to sail through the sky, Reed’s large wings perfectly calibrated for flight. He’s careful to avoid populated areas, steering us towards remote woods and a river that curls around hills like a silver ribbon. The sight takes my breat

FEMALE APHA'S STOLEN BIRTHRIGHT

FEMALE APHA'S STOLEN BIRTHRIGHT

AFTER the disaster this morning, Lauren had dreaded the flight to Montana. She’d never been on a plane before in her life, and she’d have thought that it would be terrifying, especially in the little, six-passenger, twin-engine Lear Brian led them to. Brian sat in the copilot’s seat, which left all six of the passenger seats empty. Toby pushed her past the first set of forward-facing seats with a nudge of his nose and stared at the pair of backward seats until she sat down. When he

Time will have to tell. Tonight we fly back to Atlanta, then we’re going to the Sky Light for a week. I’m nervous, but hopeful since her family has been so welcoming. I also got to see Jack’s dragon fly around last weekend, and I nearly shit my pants. It’s not something I think I’ll ever be able to wrap my head around. He’d offered to let me fly on him and I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Grace flew on him and my heart nearly sank with every movement. In the film though, Hawley does it, which means I’ll have to at some point.

Dirty Desires: The Wildest Stories Ever Told

Dirty Desires: The Wildest Stories Ever Told

John insisted I would feel more at home when I visited. I wasn't sure if Brian would like me leaving clothes there or not, so I thought it best not to bring that up. Instead I packed the usual suitcases with clothes I was comfortable with. In truth I figured if I left anything at John's it would be my old clothes. I wanted to bring the new clothes home. I left Atlanta early Saturday morning. Flying first-class is a luxury my husband and I have rarely had. So when my son fly's me out to San Francisco first-class it is a real treat. This makes flying cross-country each month a pleasurable experience.

The Cruel Alpha's Unwanted Bride

The Cruel Alpha's Unwanted Bride

{~~Avery Sterling~~} The flight wasn’t bad at all, a smooth ride that gave me plenty of time to think and prepare for the days ahead. I spent most of the flight reading, trying to immerse myself in a book to keep my mind from wandering too far into worry. Every now and then, I’d glance out the window, watching the clouds shift and the landscape beneath me change from small dots of houses to vast stretches of wilderness. It was strange, being so far from home, but I knew this trip was important.

The man is so cruel and mean. I really don't understand Avery. She seems like an intelligent person but she is a pushover unfortunately. I'll keep reading though, hoping she becomes fierce and kicks his ass.

Here to correct a review I mistakenly left for a different book with a similar premise. As far as THIS novel, the author really does a great job writing in a way that makes you feel like you're there. The FL is pathetic at times, but likeable as hell. The ML though? Pathetic is an understatement lol

Frequently Asked Questions

Steinbeck wrote 'Flight'? I think you might be mixing up the author. The short story 'Flight' is by John Steinbeck, it's in his collection 'The Long Valley'. It's not a novel, so there isn't a sprawling main plot in that sense. It's a tight, brutal tale about a young man, Pepé, from a poor Californian family who gets into a knife fight and has to flee into the mountains. The plot is essentially his desperate, doomed attempt to escape the men tracking him. It's less about the chase itself and more about watching a boy unravel under isolation and terror, slowly losing his possessions, his sanity, and finally his life. Steinbeck paints the landscape as this unforgiving character that grinds him down.

I read it years ago for a class and the imagery of Pepé's gradual degradation—the loss of his hat, his water, his horse—stuck with me more than any complex plot twist. The climax is stark and inevitable. It feels like a Greek tragedy set in the California hills, a study of fate and man's powerlessness against nature and consequence. The main 'plot' is just the process of dying.
