Which made it all the more satisfying when their conversation halted the moment I stepped into their orbit. They looked up, expressions flickering with surprise—and something else. Curiosity. I smiled—slow, deliberate. A feline smile. One that promised trouble if they were brave enough to want it. “Gentlemen,” I purred, my voice honeyed with charm. I held out the flutes with a graceful tilt of my wrists. “I thought you might need a refill.” They accepted the glasses politely, murmuring their thanks, but neither of them took a sip. Smart men.

“We do, don’t we? Still, can’t a girl get out of her comfort zone by asking one of the most brilliant guys in her grade?” Oh, she’s good. She’s calling me brilliant. Ego flattering always works when flirting. I couldn’t help my smile. “So, you think I’m brilliant.” She nodded. “Plus, we’d look great in the pictures.” She ran her fingers down my arm as she looked up at me through her lashes. Damn, she’s a good flirt.

He assured her, “I’m not going to allow a random bloke to put a helpless woman like yourself under distress. Irrespective of the fact that I find the said woman strikingly attractive.” Emma’s jaw dropped, as color rose to her cheeks. “Are you flirting with me?” In response, he gave her a dazzling smile. “Just speaking my mind,” He shrugged, “I just happen to have a taste for finer things in life.” Giving him a playful smile, she narrowed her eyes, “Flattery won’t help your chances, mister.”

Ryder asks. “Did you notice the firm set and tick in her jaw and the way she looked at me as if I were repulsive when I smirked at her?” I retort. “Oh! So, you knew you were smirking and flirting with her, did you? And then you went and nicknamed her, calling her ‘Ellie’, which was sweet by the way,” Ryder shoots back. “You don’t always realize when you are flirting or the mixed signals you give off, bro.”

Definitely not slam him with your witty comebacks. With that thought buzzing through my head, I slapped on a smile so sugary sweet it could probably cause cavities and batted my eyelashes at him, or at least I tried to pull off that cute eye-flutter. I mean, god, it probably looked more pathetic than alluring.

Without hesitation, both Chloe and Karina leaned forward and gave each other a quick, soft kiss on the lips. It wasn’t a deep kiss, just a playful peck, but it was enough to make their point. When they pulled away, they both slowly turned back toward Charlotte with matching mischievous smiles and raised eyebrows, which said ‘did you see that?’ Charlotte gave them a side–eye, her lips pressed in a thin line. It was the type of expression she always made whenever they were flirting with each other on purpose.

They looked like large gemstones. Zac fixated his gaze on her for a moment before turning away. "You have another kind of smile," he noted. "What is it?" Her thick eyelashes fluttered. He smirked.
