Sunlight streamed through floor-to-ceiling windows adorned with gauzy white sheers, casting a soft, diffused glow across the space. The most prominent piece of furniture was a king-sized bed with a plush, charcoal grey headboard upholstered in what appeared to be genuine leather. The bedding was silk, with a single throw pillow in a contrasting shade of espresso brown at the foot of the bed. Beside the bed, a sleek nightstand in a dark, polished wood gleamed faintly in the morning light. On its surface sat a glass of water and a small dish of what looked like expensive chocolates.

Only then did she realize that the bedroom and the bathroom were connected.
