Bree had been born an hour ago and was perfect. She had Nyalia’s jet-black hair but had somehow gotten my ocean-blue eyes. I really thought that she would have inherited the dark forest green eyes like Mykayla. Like her cousins, the fae genes were strong within Bree, who had been born with wings. A light split through the storm, brighter than the blood moon, purer than any spell cast by the gods. It descended—slowly, steadily—until it found Ava, suspended in the air like a breath between worlds. She didn’t move. Her eyes were shut, her arms loose by her sides. I counter. I look out at the horizon. The woods are dark, but they aren't scary. They’re just woods. The wind is just wind. The night is just the other half of the day. I lean my head on Kaleb’s shoulder and he wraps his arms me and the baby, encasing us in his warmth. "What are you thinking?" he asks. I look at the moon. It’s full tonight. A bright, silver coin hanging in the sky. It chose me twice. Once to learn, and once to love.

His silver eyes narrowed ever so slightly. “How did you end up on the battlements?” Nova suddenly found the floor very interesting. “Umm…” She rubbed the back of her neck. “I may have…” Kael folded his arms. “…May have what?” “I may have followed Rylan.” Kael’s expression remained perfectly blank. “After…” Nova smiled sheepishly. “…after he told me to stay put.” A long silence followed. Kael slowly turned his head toward the ceiling as though asking the Moon Goddess for patience.

He heard the old man grumble as he went back to the kitchen to get Tarrin the chocolate milk in new cup. Once the old butler brought him the to go cup, they said their goodbyes. Walking out into the chilly night air, Tarrin took a deep breath and looked up towards the moon. It wouldn’t be long and the soft hay colored glow would be in full circle while he was locked up for the night. He felt a twinge of longing to see the moon when it was full, Tarrin couldn't remember what it looked like, even if he caught a glimpse after the wolf came out, he still forgets by morning.

Stephen smirked. “Yeah you’re right. This place fits me well.” They all talked for a while but now it was getting dark the moon was coming out. “We should probably go inside.” Greg said. “I think the supper’s also ready.” Stephen told. Dara kept on looking at the moon. It seemed as the most beautiful thing she has ever seen. Ellen shook Dara, “Come on honey it’s getting dark and cold.” Dara went inside with her family but she wished to stare at that beautiful thing for a little longer.

Jasper Reid programmed the address into Jasper’s phone, right down to the GPS map. “See here,” he pointed to a building well back from the main road. “It doesn’t look like much normally, just some sheds. But on fight night, it comes alive, and you won’t be able to miss it. There will be hundreds of cars there, and lights and music. Just remember, there are humans there too, guests, so although it’s a full moon, no shifting.”

We went through the window together — glass exploding outward, cold night air rushing in, the ground-floor drop suddenly not a drop at all but a three-story plummet that I registered a half-second too late— We fell. A blue light flashed out of the book, and suddenly the wind was fast enough to open all the sheets of the book before my eyes. I felt my iris come to light when I saw the book in my hand. There are so many whispers that I hear, and they seem to be scrambling to know me. Some of them whispered while singing familiar melodies to my ears.

He could see the author's name and the book's name. He decided to take what transpired as him witnessing stuff due to exhaustion. The book was like any other typical online novel, only it was written in a book. The main lead was conspired against and annihilated, and reborn to take vindication with new superpowers. The only difference he spotted was that the main lead leveled up with the moonlight. He seemed more like a slave under the moonlight. How? That's what he wanted to find out. As Roman read further, he felt himself drawn into the book. He wasn't picturing the characters and adventures inside his head anymore, he felt himself playing the character.
