I looked down at my stained hands, the red colour of the paint a contrast to my skin, attacking me with vivid flashes of the gory scene from the book I read through the night. The crunching of bones, the tearing of flesh, helpless screams, and growls echoed through my head incessantly like a flickering light that had no off-switch. The sounds grew more distorted, the image flashing before me growing more potent. Sinisterly beautiful grey eyes taking a crimson shade of red, fangs dripping with blood, veiny streaks scattered across the face like a violent crack of thunder.

Or maybe it was the terrifying pictures that hung down the walls that were the cause of the quiver running down my spine. On both sides of the foyer hung several pictures of demons, vampires and monsters. I bit my nails while I studied the pictures even though they unsettled me. I guessed at least half of the pictures were from the 1500s The first portrait that caught my attention featured a very tall, grey skeleton-like man who was holding several sharp objects in his hands. The skeleton man had worms and maggots in his belly and body, and his dead skin was hanging off his bones like worn-out rags.

Devin sighed and gave me a pity look. “He’ll come around.” He assured me. “In the meantime, it’s a beautiful day and the sun is up. You wanna go for a walk?” he asked and shrugged his shoulders like it was no big deal, only if he knew what he just did. He just invited a vampire for a walk, in the sun. Good thing I’m a day lighter. “Sure.” I said and stood up from the chair I was seated. “So, what do you wanna talk about?” He asked swinging his arms beside him while staring at my face making me a little more uncomfortable than I already am.

“That's weird, I bet Ethan is hiding something.” It was already night, I was engrossed in the book I found. It wasn't giving me any solution but it had these vampire stories in them. Their do’s and don't, heroes and heroine, the war between them and hunters and their little alliance with the witches. It had a similarity because the man who bit me was a vampire.

My fingers tapped on the leather cover of the book. "I mean I guess that makes sense, but even after all the myths, vampires still had their fangs. How did they hide those?" Nico blinked at me, apparently, that thought never crossed his mind? "I guess they just never smiled?" He paused, snickering at his own words, "I don't know." My tapping on the cover quickened in speed as I pondered before I finally willed myself to open the book back up. "Maybe if I keep reading I'll find something that will help me regain my faith in humanity thousands and thousands of years ago," I said.

“She is mine!” Frank doesn’t allow the vampire to utter a word or notice his decaying form. Instead, Frank pounds his fists into him relentlessly. Frank lifts Armond by his throat. With a growl that sounded more like a roar, Frank ripped Armond apart. Blood sprayed everywhere. He dropped the body to the ground. Frank looked at me before he kneeled in front of me. He held up his hands, unsure of where to touch me. His voice quivers. “Are you hurt? Did he…?” Then he notices the bite mark. I nod. Frank takes me into his arms. “Sugar, sugar, it will be okay.”

the coach said. I didn't wait for Thalia's response. I headed straight to the bathhouse to wash my wound. I pressed the spot until the blood stopped and then washed off the blood. __ I found Franka in the Omega quarters. She was folding blankets, but her hands shook. I sat beside her. She looked up, eyes wide. “What happened to your arm?” “Thalia cut me. She made it look like an accident, but I know it was intentional." Franka’s face paled. “She hurt me once. For dropping a tray. Look.” She showed her arm, and faint scars crisscrossed her skin.

Others of the frost giant and fire giants shaking the hand of a man with one eye, he looked to be wearing a crown and holding a staff in his other hand. There were pictures of grotesque vampires attacking the wolves, I knew there has always been a war against our two species, so that picture didn't seem to phase me but what did was a young girl by the looks of it she was talking to a extremely small person with pointy ears who's clothes seems to be fashioned from leaves, quite unusual. In the background there were six or more little lights that appear to be flying. As I continued flipping through the pages, I began to feel extremely tired, it rushed over me like I had just had a tranquiliser

After shopping with Dane, which somehow he bought even more for me than Xavier had, I settled into lounge den with my books and Theo laying on my leg while I deciphered his notes from class. I giggled reading one of them aloud. "That Frankenstein guy just seemed sad." He scowled at me, snatching the page from me. "Tell me I'm wrong." I bent down and kissed his forehead, stroking his golden hair back. "I can not. You are correct he's sad, but it's more clinical depression caused by the time period and his intelligence clashing in ways."

I gulped down the lump in my throat, as I stared down at the image with my mouth trembling in fear. Reaching the book, I flipped it to the next page, revealing a more shocking truth. The image before me was a woman that has a mark on her body, it was like the bruise gotten from animal claws, but now everything is becoming clear, it isn't an animal but a vampire.
