Or am I just hallucinating? I heard a loud thud, and I followed my gaze to see what is it. A book was lying on the ground, so I bent down to pick it up. I opened it to see the pages, but instead of words, I saw portraits. There were familiar faces of people sketched here when I realized it was the pack that I had seen earlier. I flip through pages and pages. The author of the book was anonymous. When I flipped to the end of the page I gasped when I saw Ethan and Chanel’s faces and there were words carved on their portraits below.

had made him want to find out more. "Seriously, would it kill you to shut up?!" Robin roared and turned to him. Eric's mouth fell open as he saw her face. It had changed quite unexpectedly. Her eyes were gray and glowing, her chest was heaving, fangs were jutting out from her thin mouth, and Eric barely had time to process any thoughts before a terrified scream escaped his lips.

Jon felt himself falling into that unknown world which seemed devoid of light and color as screams of agony filled his ears. Jon blinked and suddenly found himself back in the library looking at the strange picture. He felt his feet touching the floor and heard the soft hum of the library's air conditioning. Still looking at the painting, he gazed at the creature again and recognized the combined features of the bat and snake. Dante watched with a self-satisfied air as Jon stood transfixed in front of the painting. "Mesmerizing, isn't it?" remarked Dante. "The ember ghost!" Jon gasped.

A large table sat in the center, covered in maps, papers, graphs, and diagrams scattered like someone had been frantically working. The air smelled of old paper and something sharp, almost like blood. We crowded around the table, my eyes drawn to the strange drawings. The diagrams showed creatures,bhuman-like but wrong, with long fangs, or claws too sharp for any wolf. My breath caught as I read the handwritten notes: Hybridization Process: Wolf Blood Integration. Words like “vampire” and “Dracula strain” were scrawled everywhere, alongside charts about mixing wolf blood to create a hybrid, half wolf, half something monstrous.

She was left with no choice and left alongside Nicholas who said that he will send her to the library before he leaves. Zinnia already knew that saying no will only annoy the overly doting man and so she didn’t react to it anymore. She can only allow the man to pamper her to his heart's content. As they walked past the tall gigantic walls, Zinnia went silent as she felt the extreme familiarity from the artworks hanging on the wall. Some of the framed artworks had names on them while the others didn't. Most of them were sketches of forests, wolves, the moon, and some kind of artwork about a goddess that somehow causes her mind to go blank from time to time.

I replied dryly. “Thank you for the opportunity once again, sir.” He said and just then, I remembered how I had watched him give Regina the card. How about I brought that up? “Yeah, it’s no issue. So what did you do about the girl I had sent off? Offer her a business idea or something?” I read his expression just then as he looked away, breaking eye contact. He already understood that I knew of the card he had given Regina. “I just wanted to help.” Frankenstein replied. “I gave her a contact I had at Eric Circle, but…”

Opposite and sides of the room sat tall shelves carrying textbooks, all medical. He was always studying. I stopped at the table, looking over the papers. Then I took interest on a particular white sheet of paper sticking out of a large red covered book. On the paper's protruded side was a drawing of some creature. I hate to admit that it actually looks like a werewolf but it did. Picking it out from the book and up to my face, I could clearly see the picture now. It's an image of a werewolf, it's body parts fully labelled.

They were all pretty convincing. A big spiral-bound notebook made of drawing paper lay on the chair. I flipped through a few pages. Some had charcoal drawings made with angry looking strokes. Dark and rough, but still recognizable as fields and hills you’d find around here. Other pages had diagrams in pen with clusters of spidery notes. Prop guillotines and coffins with spring-loaded lids. But most of the pages had monsters. Some drawn, some cut from movie magazines and pasted in. Some were more Polaroids of James in makeup; others were ordinary pictures of people from advertisements or news stories. On those he’d painted open-throat wounds or gouged out eyes with pen.

But due to the old age, the part of the leather had turned dusty, causing it to crack and peel off. Rose who was handed the book slowly opened the book that made a slight cracking noise. She stared at the old yellow pages, opening it to find that the book had not only been hand written but also had drawn. There was a vampire in the first page, drawn by hand, their figure, features, and even the maliciousness was exactly the same as what she had seen before. It made her curious of the other beings drawn there, finding skeletons that could move and act on their own, animals that were dead but would fight upon a magic casted by the sorcerer.

I looked down at my stained hands, the red colour of the paint a contrast to my skin, attacking me with vivid flashes of the gory scene from the book I read through the night. The crunching of bones, the tearing of flesh, helpless screams, and growls echoed through my head incessantly like a flickering light that had no off-switch. The sounds grew more distorted, the image flashing before me growing more potent. Sinisterly beautiful grey eyes taking a crimson shade of red, fangs dripping with blood, veiny streaks scattered across the face like a violent crack of thunder.
