Lema, seorang pemuda yang merupakan peneliti dari Badan Riset Nasional ditugaskan untuk meneliti sekumpulan peserta didik yang mengenyam pendidikan di suatu daerah terpencil. Namun, Lema menyadari adanya keanehan, yaitu dua orang peserta didik yang menjadi subjek penelitiannya selalu hadir berselang-seling, tidak pernah menghadiri pembelajaran di hari yang sama. Di sela-sela melakukan analisis terhadap hasil penelitiannya, Lema bersama rekan-rekan sejawatnya menyelidiki keanehan ini.
