“Of course you sent orchids. What’s next? A piano?” She opened the basket slowly, peeled back the cellophane, took one look at the gleaming fruit, and sighed. It was a beautiful gesture. Thoughtful. And she was out of fruits too, she just couldn't take her lazy feet out for grocery shopping, so it's a win-win but she just wasn’t in the mood to be moved by it. She turned away and headed toward the pantry, muttering under her breath about how ridiculous it was that fruit and apologies went hand in hand these days. She was going to enjoy it though.

"Hey, you should pick some for your mother," I say, giving him back the basket but he refuses to get it. "Mum doesn't like strawberry. And so am I." He replied, bored.

I said through gritted teeth. “How about I give you the surprise that I’ve been saving for last?” Lucas asked. My eyes lit up at his words, forgetting the angry feeling I felt just a few seconds ago. “A surprise? What is it? Give it to me now!” My heart raced excitedly like a child who had been promised a trip to the theme park. Lucas smirked before getting to his feet and walking towards the fridge. He took out a small basket of purple fruits. “Surprise!” Lucas said, walking towards the counter with the basket of fruits. “I got you the fruits you wanted.”

From every angle it appeared that the basket was properly organized with those fruits (that was because Alan bought it from the market) But he only put those fruits that can be stolen easily. He had to make it look like it was stolen after all!

"How did nobody take this stuff before now?" Aaron shrugs as he dumps a handful of fruit cocktail into one of the red baskets. "Maybe the place got overrun before it could happen. Maybe someone that worked here barricaded the door and didn't let anyone in and planned to survive in here alone. I don't know, and to be honest, I don't really care. This food is gonna go a long way, I bet."
