I replayed everything in my head in seconds. Jace on the floor, Kendall’s face when the bid hit nine hundred million, the way the entire hall went silent when Silas defender me. The way I didn’t shrink once. I smiled slowly. “No,” I said. “I don’t. I can't ever regret tonight." Silas’s eyes darkened slightly, like that answer pleased him more than he wanted to show. “Good.” The car slowed as it turned into a private road, trees lining both sides now instead of city lights. I shifted in my seat, placing the deed carefully back into the folder.

" I want to tell you something very important so I need you to listen up" He's silent again for what feels like an eternity probably because I'm going out of my mind just for this one piece of information which I'm not even sure is legit and God help me, he's playing with me, I'll have his head on a platter. Late at night at the Golding family estate, the massive mansion blazed with lights from top to bottom. Strangely, though, the entire place was dead silent, not a single person in sight. Only the grand hall was occupied—several figures stood beneath the towering chandeliers. At the center sat Richard, head of the Golding family, high on the main seat with an icy expression carved into his face. The butler stepped forward and leaned in to whisper in his ear. "Sir, there's an update on the bounty."

Our eyes meet and he smiles brightly at me, and seemingly sensing my conclusion he relaxes into his seat. “So, this silence is a tad bit awkward...” He grins shyly as my stare fixes on him again. “Welcome home.” As the words left my lips his eyes widened in shock before relaxing, his lips curling once again into a beautiful smile. “It’s good to be back.” He replies, nodding his head. “Is it really? The old man’s going to kill you, you know.” “Oh, he’ll probably try.” He chuckles but as I raise my brow, he visibly becomes nervous and I sigh inwardly.

I ordered. "Ok sir, right away." she answered then left. After a while, she came back and put the snacks and champagne glasses on the table. "Drink a glass and relax your mind." I said softly when Bertha left. She took a glass of champagne and drunk slowly. For hours we sat quietly next to each other without talking. I was very grateful because all I could think about was making love to her and her talking to me was making it hard. "We have reached our destination, so may you please ladies and gentlemen fasten your seat belts as we are about to land." The pilot spoke through the speaker.

Althea asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "Silence," Mrs. Ruiz replied, her tone resolute. "Your silence is the most powerful weapon you have in this situation." Althea looked at her mother, her brow furrowed. "But how can I just stay silent, when they've done all of this?" she asked, her voice full of confusion and doubt. "Because a silent woman is a deadly woman," Mrs. Ruiz said. "Silence is golden, as they say," Mrs. Sobrerano said, a knowing look in her eyes. "A well-timed silence can say more than any words ever could."
