Iphan asked Kane as he tore his lips away from his girlfriend, Summers who was all over him "She stepped in to get us some flutes and Tequila" Kane replied, caressing his stubble "Oh" Iphan mouthed "I think it's best if you worry less about me and concentrate on Summers" Kane said, shoving his hands into the pocket of his wet briefs

I stood in the kitchen, dicing some vegetables for the food I was cooking for dinner. I had gotten my first pay just yesterday, and used a small amount for the groceries we needed at home. Everything has just been so strange these past few days. It was nearly as if a magical wand had touched my step father. Suddenly, he was in such a good mood, that he was almost never at home, and when he was, he sat down in the garage welding for people, while humming some Korean old songs.

I sat alone in my dark room, which had very little light. It wasn't really a home for me. There was a poor, off-white couch in the corner with tattered edges, and the scent of yesterday night's pizza still hung in the air. I held my phone tightly in my hand, which was the only way I could communicate with the outside world. I scroll through social media over and over again. Every new post on my feed reminds me of what I've lost. Friends at family events. Smiles that I used to be a member of.

He paused and rubbed his right thumb across her cheek, his eyes boring into her deepest part. "I don't want to come back just to a clean home and home made meals. I want to come back to you too." His voice was so deep and coarse with overwhelming emotions. "I want to come home to you 'cause my home is where my heart is. You're stuck with me, Ava. I'm never letting you go, so I need you to start getting rid of your fears." That was all she needed to hear to get the sparks out. And by God, she believed every word.

“Oh yeah? What is it?” Hero pulls something from the small pocket of his suit—a folded piece of paper with a drawing he made himself with crayons. It’s a picture of ours little family: me, Freya, and him, standing in front of a house with the sun shining above us. Freya takes the drawing with trembling hands, her eyes glistening slightly. “Hero… this is wonderful.” Hero grins proudly. “Mommy said home isn’t about a place, it’s about the people in it. So this is our home!”

We finished the paperwork with the buying of the property rather quickly. As much as I wanted to pay for everything myself, Alex just won't let back down so we halved it. We decided to stay at home for at least a week first to pack everything. We had also taken the measurements inside the house so we could buy the furniture that we needed.
