I turned toward the staircase to leave them alone, but then I heard a voice from the top of the staircase. “What’s happening here?” Peter Kellerman descended the staircase like a king returning to his throne, one hand smoothing down his shirt and the other running through his hair. His cocky grin was already in place, the very same one that made me want to throw something at his head. Great. Just great. All three of us froze, staring at him like he’d appeared out of thin air. “It’s nothing,” Samantha started, but I stepped in, because SCREW THAT. “Actually, I just got a prank call from a burner. It could be Russell. But sure, Dad, let’s all pretend it’s nothing, like always.” I grunted.

My brother answered my call right away. "Bro, I received a prank call informing me that Dad and Mom were kidnapped and they will have 24 hours to live. This is a joke, right? But when I tried calling and texting them, they were not replying to my calls. I'm getting worried about their condition. Please tell me that this is a joke!" I anxiously said, my hands were trembling. There was a long pause at the other end of the line that made my heart beat frantically in my rib cage. "Bro, are you still there?"

I stared straight at the scene of the traffic accident a short distance away as I called my best friend, Sarah Harker. "I'm sorry, Dezzy. I'm away on a holiday, and I just got off the plane. I'll bring with me some local delicacies for my goddaughter once I'm back," Sarah said gleefully. She even sent me a few photographs from her vacation. By the time my secretary called, I was in no mood to listen to anything else. That bizarre phone call, spanning time and space, was still connected. The other "me" said in a scratchy voice, "Dezarae Lisbon, trust me. I've tried sending you a photograph. I hope that it can change this outcome."

“It’s really stupid.” He asked, stunned. "What?" “From beginning to end, I hadn’t said it once. That this prank had been taught by Michelle Mary, It's really confusing, and it's like a real idiot. But you still want to prank me? Wait, until I find you, I will definitely send you to prison.” He hung up the phone even though Carlo had just said he would handle it. I gave him a disgusted look. “Hello dad. Can you please fire the manager and all the staff of the L.A branch.” The man opened his eyes wider than normal when he heard what I said. “You think you can fool me with a prank call?” I let out a soft smile as she picked the tab. “Pick your call and see if it was a prank call or not.” He gently picked the phone and opened his eyes wider than normal when he heard what the person on the call said. He was still begging on the call when I stood up and walked away. While I was walking out I watched all of them run up and down as they were getting their sack mails.

Kelly rushes over taking the call without checking the caller ID. “Yes," she answered and waited patiently for her speaker to say something or state the reason for their call, but nothing came from the other end. “Hello.. hello” she called out yet again but the line was dead silent. Prank calls were not something she frequently got but connected with the mafia, nothing is ever a prang. “If you have nothing to say I will hang up” she threatened but no words came yet again. She was tired and did as promised. She walked back to the balcony taking the phone with her this time around. Days have passed since she was last touched.

But it could be an internet call too. Some people always used internet calls to harass others. They called and said nothing. “Hello? Who are you?” Summer said warily. That person remained silent. Summer hung up and blocked that number. Buzz! A while later, someone called again.
