Thorny vines shot out of the woods and wrapped themselves around one of the monsters, trapping it but it wouldn't hold for long. The other two ran towards me with a speed I hadn't expected from monsters their size. Blasting them with my water magic didn't deter them, instead, it angered them further. They had almost gotten to me when the mist popped out six huge monsters, five of which immediately went into action. The winged monster didn't, instead, it trotted to me and nuzzled my cheek, making me smile. The Egran, which I had decided to name my monsters, fought with Karissa's scorpion-wolves with such speed that stunned the scorpion-wolves themselves at first.

The leader of the gangster frowned and laughed then he tore the bill in front of the young woman. “What? You want us to pay the bill?! Are you out of your mind? We will eat as long as we want! We will destroy the things as long we want! You didn’t know me? I'm the leader of the Hymox gangster here in this place. This is also my territory, whatever this place had, it belongs to me!” then they laughed and mocked her. The young woman cried after she heard what the gangster said to her. She ran towards her boss, the master of Kukushi. “sir I’m so sorry,” said the young woman to him. Then she went to the kitchen.

“Who? I don’t ask a third time.” “Monks. Tibetan monks. They’re superstitious. Want to find out if the Chinatown Monster is a demon or some shit. It’s good for both of us. I heard the cocking of guns from behind me but Gio held up his hand. "I feel intense bloodlust right now, Gio... You must've had a death wish to be able to anger me like this." "Y-You..." He met my eyes which were stained with his blood. "You're a m-monster... like Jett..." A monster. The word rang in my ears. Sure. I can be the monster. I threw his body on the crates on one side of the warehouse and fluidly bent my body to avoid the bullets that his men rained on me. I felt my adrenaline pumping after hearing the rain of gunshots and the familiar texture of blood on me.

I just needed to keep the conversation going for as long as possible. "Oh sorry. Where are my manners?" He apologized, "My name is Dante Gonzalez, the founder of the Serpent Mafia" he said pulling his sleeve up and showing his dragon with a crown tattoo. My eyes quickly widened as I recognized the tattoo. We had been warned about this gang lots of times in our police training. I never even thought they were real. "You looked surprised" he said with a smile on his face, "Don't worry, I don't bite. Ain't that right, Miyuki?" he asked his cat.

As we walked, Tommy explained the game to me. “It's called MonsterGo,” he said, pulling out his cell phone. “You open up the app and then monsters pop up on your screen. They can show up anywhere, so you have to run all over town to find them.” Tommy snatched my phone out of my hand and quickly downloaded the game for me. “There, now you can play too,” he said. I shrugged, seeing the game as the perfect opportunity to distract myself from the misery that was job hunting. We ran around the park for a bit and it wasn't long before I caught my first monster. It was called a “Stingly.”
