Amelia paused at the threshold, her eyes widening slightly.
“It’s… quiet,” she said.
“Yes,” Alina replied. “The walls block the wind.”
They stepped outside.
The garden stretched wide and open, bordered by tall hedges and climbing vines. Flowers bloomed in careful patterns—white, pale yellow, soft lavender. A fountain murmured at the center, water catching the light as it fell.
Amelia took a hesitant step forward.
Then another.
Isadora stayed close but did not guide her. She let Amelia walk at her own pace, letting the ground feel real beneath her feet.
